Some slightly better news this morning, though I could hardly be bothered to mention it such is my black mood.

Apparently Mike Ashley accompanied Graham Carr to watch Aubameyang as St Etienne took on PSG, and Aubameyang is impressed at the level of interest we are showing:

So, looks hopeful that we are serious about trying to sign him. Have also heard it mentioned that Ashley may have opened initial negotiations with St Etienne. Can only hope!

Would be good although lots of reports about Arsenal and Spuds after him too. Will have to see how it all plays out in the summer.

you say Thursday nights as if it is a regular thing.... we'll probably only have two more matches which isn't that bad.

we have 8 games in the lague left so it's still bad given our current situation. We need the points against Fulham and Sunderland or it's bye bye for us.

2 wins would likely see us safe, which I'm almost certain we'll get...with games to spare.

us being relegated would suggest that we'd pick up no further points and 3-4 teams below us would pick up a few wins, which is hard as seen as a lot of them are playing each other. I think the bottom 2 positions are already certain, and we are 6 points away from the 3rd bottom. Not exactly comfortable, but not nearly as worrying as Wigan or Sunderland (have you seen their fixture list?!)

What would seriously worry me is if Wigan, Villa Sunderland and Southampton, Norwich and Stoke all won their next game. Not gunna happen if you look at the fixtures. Wigan V Norwich is a 6 pointer mind.

We're fine in terms of the league for me. I suspect we'll pick up the required point against Fulham and the Mackems. I still think we have other winnable games also.

Nice move by Ashley. I think we'll do well to ge thim given some of the names mentioned in connection with him but I did say the same about Sissoko.

pppfff the injuries we have leave us playing a **** side for crucial games - we are ****e yesterday and the tackle shouldn't let us ignore it.

We were poor and looked a tired team. I felt Pard should have made more changes. Sissoko has looked tired for the last 3, you can't keep going to the well. But we looked solid again bar Santon's piss poor effort at clearing the first. We'll be fine.

I really hope so, howwever I just can't see a win with players we have to choose from now.

Our injuries have been the worst I've known and it's a real shame given what we did last year.

If we had to have Willo in there I'd be more worried. And if there weren't such a **** bunch of sides below us, more worried again. I think Mbiwa and Saylor look a good partnership. If Tiote would stop playing like a ****** we'd be better off mind. We did get a bit ragged late on when we got tired but had no midfield at that stage.

Got a feeling that ****** Hodgson might call up Taylor now Ferdinands dropped out just to spread our cheeks open a little further.

I'd ask Taylor to say no but you just know he couldn't. Too proud a man. Edit - Caulker promoted
