Been placed under a transfer embargo but no points deduction. Former chairman banned from football for 3 years
Its a pathetic ruling Someone please explain what a transfer embargo does if your still allowed to buy players?
Was going to say it could be there so a club under embargo can sign enough players to field a match day squad but then again they should just use youth squad to fill it for me
To make up for it they should just allocate ourselves and Cardiff 3 international loans each for the run-in. And while they're at it, everyone apart from Palace should be awarded 15 penalties in their next game.
Does it really matter ? Watford have blown there gasket imo and i think that we shall see Watford sink down the table now. With Burnley @ home on Good Friday and then us away on the following tuesday followed by Cardiff @ home on the 6th april i dont see Watford as our main challengers after easter.
So Watford will now go into a downward spiral because they lost a game? We've lost three out of our last five, so by that logic we are going to plummet now! If this season has taught us anything, its that you cannot predict a result. Don't assume we will march on to victory based on how our opponents do, just focus on our results and let our football do the talking.
If you read the details about the case, it's actually a pretty sensible ruling. What pretty much happened was our former owner took out some loans from a 3rd party company, against future transfer fees. He then directed that money to himself (so screwed the club over too). The problem was he didn't declare these 3rd party loans to the FL as he should have - pretty much because he was being a crook and taking this money out of the club. All the transfer 'embargo' means is when we do sign players, all documentation needs to be show to the relevant footballing authorities so we don't do it again. A pretty sensible outcome really, and hope no other club has the pleasure of being owned by this guy! As for the table... seems no team wants to cement that 2nd place. Beginning of April, when we play you then Cardiff, is going to be pretty big... but we need to get back to winning ways against Burnely first!
No, it was a previous owner. An employee even refused him access to our club safe, in which she got sacked for. When the new owners came in, they actually approached the FL about it, and have been open and helpful with regards to everything about this case. It seems they have taken this into consideration, and realised we neevr gained from the loans our former owner took out, and actually suffered for it, seeming we didn't receive the transfer money Dodgy?? Nothing dodgy about our new owners at all.... Would rather them than a lot of the owners that are out there! You may not agree with how they are doing it (although still within the current rules), but I'd rather them do it this way than risk the future of the club like so many other owners, and our previous one, have done - I am pretty safe in saying we would have been in at least administration if the new owners had not taken over from this guy. If he was still in charge, this penalty would have been a lot harsher on the club too!
