Basically, what rating would people give him out of 10 so far. I would've gone for 7 as he has not changed a drastic amount since he has come in, other than a slight variation in our style of defending. However, I am going to downgrade him to a 6, based simply on yesterdays performance. Blazer, tie, shirt and... Jeans?
Allow me to answer your question with a question. Why do you ask some stupid things and back them up with needless reasons?
Not just any jeans: skinny jeans. I'd give him a 7.5. I'm extremely pleased with the stylistic changes that he has made...the pressing, the fact that he seems to be encouraging Schneiderlin to get into the box (and that late-arriving central player is something we were missing before, and it's no coincidence that he now has two goals off of knockdowns that pre-Poch would have fallen into an empty area), the general organization. Can't give him any more than that because we have a pretty modest points total, but we could be primed for a damned good '13/'14 if it all comes together.
Schad speaks for me. Although, Poche seems a stylish guy. In the summer he is known to just go with jeans and an open collar shirt....
Not in this country he won't. You need to have a decent summer for that and the last 6 years or so haven't qualified. And this year won't be any different. Felt sorry for him Saturday, standing on the touchline, soaked through. To his credit, he barely seemed to notice it, so totally committed to the cause, is he. I'll give him an 8 for that, and because Saints are playing better, on the whole, than under our beloved Nigel. I'm beginning to realise that, even with the current crop of players, Pochettino's high pressing style is starting to work better and better.
I caught him doing his hair. Providing we stay up, which I believe we will, I think this summer could be interesting. Clearly a few heading out, and Pochettino has been tasked with taking SFC to "the next level". Optimistic. And hopeful of an interesting summer and preseason, with some new faces of quality, and hopefully some more English from Mauricio. As much as he was brought in to keep us up, I can't help but think both MP and NC would feel that his job really starts in the summer. Just one January singing has given him enough time to evaluate what Saints have and need. But first things first, lets stay up.
And the players seem to be adjusting their decision-making to fit in attack, which makes us far more dangerous. If you treat every moment of possession as an opportunity to score right the **** now, you'll get more looks at goal, and more often than not we're doing that; every time we got the ball yesterday, the person with it was looking to make something happen, and the attacking players off the ball were looking for the holes in the defense into which they could run. If Poch can convince them to show the same urgency against teams that are defending deep, we'll do more than claim a few scalps.
Like his style of football shows how little changes can make the difference. The team have bought into his plan...necessary as he works them like dogs. I like the way he is utilising JRod. Lambert is still seen as pivotal since he plays him every game, but he is letting Jay play more forward...he looked lost the way that Nigel was using him. Style of play: 8.0 Skinny jeans: 0.5 Having a little weight problem which makes him human: 0.5 Total 9.0
A) Why are they stupid? B) Because he's starting a thread C) He is adding a touch of humour D) What did your post add to the debate? E) What has this post added to the debate? - nothing!
You're right, a tie with jeans is unforgiveable. But I forgive him. And can we stop calling him Poch now? Pochettino isn't that hard to spell.
I think a tie with jeans can be OK. Ivy League look, providing they have the right labels of course! And a decent pair of penny loafers. By the way "potty chinos"......took me a while. Clever.
Should we take into account past sins? Alice band/ponytail. Or are all past sins forgiven on becoming a saint?
Probably a 7; our best performances have been against Man City and Liverpool and if he can emulate this onto the weaker times (like the upcoming Reading fixture) then I'd go for an 8. It's got to be mentioned that he got Puncheon to sign a new contract, however much involvement he had in it.
