The Tyne & Wear development Corporation were responsible for a lot of damage. Unless of course you lived on the banks of the Tyne.

No, you have misunderstood this. Not more depressed people, but a greater proportion of the people there are depressed. Otherwise London would have the most happy, sad, gay, white, black etc.... !!!
All about benefits.. Ive got mates who claim for every benefit beknown to man and not a frigging thing wrong with them. One mate is a body builder and has claimed for a bad back for, god, must be 20 years. Nothing wrong with him. Another is a lazy twat but is on 10/15 pints a day and Benidorm 3/4 times a year. Where the hell he gets the money from god only knows. Others are in the pub at 09:30. as asked in for a few pints one day as he had just got his alcoholic beer money. we give money away for sneezing in this country and the powers that be haven't got a clue as long as they are lining their greedy frigging pockets. The county is as far down the **** pan as it can possibly bewithout being flushed down the sewer. My place also has jobs, minimum wage which now comes to around £280 per week. I'm sure they could manage a hot dog and chips with that.......Never bought a paper for 10 years. Full of ****e withith a capitol SH...
I'll ttake your depression and raise you a business centre. ................................................................................... SUNDERLAND is the best place outside London to do business, claims a new report. The report, produced by research consultancy in conjunction with the Municipal Journal, ranks Sunderland as âthe best city in England in the environment and infrastructure category,â which covers: commercial floorspace; connectivity; cost base; quality of life; and growth in commercial and industrial floorspace. It comes hot on the heels of last monthâs Centre for Cities Outlook report, which praised Sunderlandâs economy and highlighted the way in which the city is recovering from recession faster than many others and this weekâs announcement that Wearside is set to win sweeping new powers under the Governmentâs City Deals programme. City council leader Coun Paul Watson said: âThis business and investment success has been achieved because we have set down long-term goals through our Economic Masterplan and we are seeing the results. âDespite tough times, new jobs are being created, and there are strong levels of public and private sector investment. What Sunderland is good at is getting both the infrastructure and the business environment right.â The report points to the success of Nissan as well as the presence of major investors such as Barclays, Lloyds TSB Bank, EDF and Nike. âThe city council has always forged strong links with the private sector â from property developers to manufacturers â and these links have made the cityâs economy far more diversified, far more robust and far more resilient,â said Coun Watson. âAs a city by the sea, and part of the wider North East region, we can offer a very attractive quality of life outside of work too.â The report highlights ways in which the city council has worked with both public and private sector partners to support businesses, the availability of high quality, low-cost premises and the presence of a availability of a skilled workforce, with staff turnover of less than 10 per cent as major factors in attracting and retaining companies.
