If he wants us top 6, why's he signing the likes of Danny Graham?

MON seems to be saying anything at the moment to detract blame away from himself. His signings in general have been poor and certainly not top 6 players.

Aye, just like Bruce. If he had anything about him, he'd be telling the press how his signings have been ****e.

Got to agree with this...taking no blame himself and potentially damaging for player morale - bizarre move from Marty!

Not sure how to read that billy. It could all be cloak and dagger as well ie if she comes out and says "we have money to spend this summer" suddenly players we go for become 5m more expensive.

This is more in hope than expectation!!

Is it his fault that Johnson hasn't lived up to expectation? You telling me that Fletcher, Johnson, N'Diaye and Danny Rose we're poor signings? This board was buzzing when we signed Johnson. Just hasn't been as influential as we wanted (although has still been very important this season with his goals and assists)

I did say his signings in general have been poor and I'm not convinced about N'Diaye tbh, Bridge, The Greek, Cuellar, Saha, McFadden, Mangane and Graham. These are certainly not players to get us top 6 and it is the majority of his signings. I have stated many times that I don't blame him for Johnson as he has proved everybody wrong with how poor he's been.

You could build a case to say MON can also take a portion of the blame for this by his piss poor, boring, negative tactics which don't allow our forwards to be in the game as much as they would want to be.

The thing with MON is that he has always got players playing above themesleves. This has not been the case here.

Our spending will depend on us staying up!, duffed the game today although a season card holder, and dross at the back again is Mangane going to get a game ?, my renewal form will be going in if we do not win today, get Whickham on and O Shea off. 3 up front because this is do or die for MON, as i cannot see us winning untill we play Stoke or Soton in may.
And top six !, he is having a laugh, other average teams are signing better players than us.

I think AJ hasn't been terrible. He's not looked like a world-beater but he's contributed enough to keep you out of the relegation zone up until now, there are other players I would point the finger at before him (like McLean, where is the player from last season?).

O'Neill must, like any manager, take responsibility for his signings. It's not just about "is this laad good" its also about whether they will settle and fit into a system. AJ seemed a safe bet as he's local (so settling not an issue), knows the league and has a good reputation off the pitch (i believe). The issue seems, to me, to be the system he's been asked to play in - i still think he's a good signing he just needs to be used correctly.

Other signings have been hit and miss but that's usual for all managers really. You could just as easily be 9th and saying how he's building nicely, though I must admit the football on offer does tend to be on the tedious side...
