when he took over at QPR they were 6 points adrift, 25mil and 19 matches later they are 7 points adrift with only 8 games to go. My question is..... Why does every football pundit and football fan apart from us, bum him and sing his praises so much?
Because he talks the talk and sometimes walks the walk. Not this season, it looks like. I guess they won't be able to hide that Saints relegation blip in his CV after this season*. *if what I assume will happen does happen.
Arry is clueless tactically. He's all about buying players from a bottomless pit of cash to bail him out. Not going to work this time for Arry.
To be honest I would wait till the end of the season to comment on Redknapp, if he can keep QPR up he deserves some credit, if not, we all know what he is really like.
I would love it if QPR went down, being a bit of a hypocrite but what will happen to the club financially and which of these "top players" stay/go should be interesting.
To be honest I wouldn't even be that impressed if he did keep them up. If you gave any of the other teams around QPR £20m and £150k+ p/w wages to spend in January I reckon they would have stayed up too. And that's even without the squad he started off with. He didn't inherit a team in great form, but for me they should still be comfortably 3/4 points clear of the relegation zone by now. And I'm saying this as someone who is actually if anything more of a fan of Redknapp than a hater.

They're going down, but to be fair to Harry only losing one more point on the rest of the pack since he took over is quite an achievement considering how abject they were before. Though as you say he has spent a lot of money to do it.
Apparently they played quite well today, but that can happen to any team (ask a Saints fan). The difference is that when you are at the bottom a valiant loss is pointless (literally). We keep bobbing along, despite losing games. QPR have no cushion, since they must win and hope others slip up. Have you seen how close we are to 10th place now? If we beat Chelsea.... Stop it, Fran....the road to madness...you'll be talking to yourself soon.
I think Redknapp is actually a very good manager. He has his flaws like anyone, but I think he evaluates talent well and knows how to get teams to win-- when he chooses. Which is the unfortunate thing. Because I think he cares much more about himself and his money than doing right by the fans, players, and club. If he weren't so morally bankrupt he might have been a legend.
They now probably have to win at least 5 of their last 8 matches. Can't see it. I wonder where Arry will go next!
This sums up exactly how I feel about Redknapp. I'm still not sure QPR are down but it is a shame that looks like another decent club will start to feel the negative after-effects of his tenure.
Surely its time for retirement and hopefully a quiet one, eg no tv appearances, no newspapers, no transfer advice etc.
The press love him because he always has time for them, always has a quote delivered in that lugubrious Poplar drawl, and has more than a whiff of the loveable rogue about him. He makes journalists jobs easy by always giving them something to report on, on and off the pitch.
