I'm getting prepared for Sunday afternoon after a 0-0 draw for some people yelling 'Hughton out,' 'we're going down,' 'we're doomed' and 'we're too negative.'

Even if we don't lose, gain a point or even score one goal there are going to be plenty of moaners. It's getting boring (see what I did there?).

EVERYONE would prefer us to play better football but I'm prepared to stick with it for the rest of the season if it keeps us up, it's kept us 9 points clear of the relegation zone so far so I can't see why we should suddenly drop away.

Although I do hope that the team is improved to be capable of playing better football and win games. We will be debt free and it will be the third consecutive season in the top flight for only the second time in my lifetime, I believe. It is a great opportunity to improve the squad and build the team further.

Not another thread moaning about Norwich fans, you're right it's getting boring. There has been way too much said about the fans rather than what's actually happening on the pitch.

I agree, that survival has to be priority this season, by any means possible and hopefully we can put all this self-created gloom behind us and start again next season with some better players.

    i'd definitely take a 0-0
another point in the bag to safety <ok>
as long as the result is better than the 3-0 up there last season, i'm happy.

Got a sneaky feeling we might pinch this one 1-0

A defensive 0-0 away draw is a bit different from a defensive 0-0 home draw against a team who have conceded more away goals than any other in the league, so I don't think that people would be complaining if we managed 0-0 on Sunday.

To have supported Norwich over the past years (not just 2 or 3 seasons) will be very happy with safety in whatever form it comes. We all hope for the quickest possible means, but next year we will have pressed reset. There will be more funds to spend and overhaul the squad and hope springs eternal!

I just hope we are going to see some drive and pace injected. In my opinion thats where we have slipped from last year, there is no movement from those off the ball so nowhere to go but backwards, usually whilst being pressed by the opposition. This might be because of Hughton's cautious safety first approach or some other reason, I'm not an analyst or a pundit so I dont pretend to know, I just want to see some real effort and drive, players charging up teh field and really putting the opposition under pressure to make mistakes. Somehow though I think this has got 0 - 0 written all over it!

I'll take a 0-0 at the Stadium of Light - to me that is a good point gained. As Vietnam says above there is a big difference in parking the bus away to parking that bus at home - same bus, different driver.

problem is if we go there to do that we are just inviting them onto us and making it harder. There is actually some truth in the old adage about the best form of defene....

I wasn't advocating parking the bus. I was just pointing out that if the game were a carbon-copy of the southampton game, our attitude would be different to it simply because we were away rather than at home.

That's essentially means going back to the Lambert style of play. It won't happen in one game anyway.

We will improve next season but not dramatically, this sort of thing takes time and patience.

Actually, I don't agree it is a return to the lambert style, whatever that is. I'm not advocating a 'gung ho' all out attack and to hell with defence approach. I do think that perhaps Hughton has schooled everyone to focus on their positions so they don't look for spaces to move into as much and there is no reason why that can't be wound back a little to give one or two of them a bit more freedom. It is particularly noticeable once we have gone ahead in games I think?

I think it's all about confidence at the moment, which makes the players more tentative. CH didn't play 4-4-2 last week because he wanted caution above everything. The Everton win gave a lift which the Old Trafford defeat deflated. Seven points from the last 6 games is getting us there and as long as another seven can be added from the last nine games the magic forty points will be reached and we can look towards moving on next year.

I don't think we're going down, and I don't think many do at the moment - but there is a building feeling of negativity around the club, which I definitely think needs to be sorted out.

I think we've had 3 shots on target in 3 hours of football - I cant imagine there is a team in all four divisions with a more feeble tally. Whatever the score tomorrow, that must be addressed. That said, I'll take a 0-0, but I'll be gutted if we play for it, which I think we will.

£10 on the 0-0 for me...

I honestly don't think Carla has a clue what your "You have been warned" post was about Dave.

That thread was to do with provoking arguments and yelling at each other, this is referring to the inevitable moaning we will get Sunday afternoon if the game ends 0-0. Have any arguments been provoked on this read apart from your post above? No!

I can't see the connection redruth?

If it's an open, end to end game with NCFC having their share of attacks, regardless of the score I think most people will not be in "moan" mode, it will just be a relief to know they can play that way. However, if it is one way traffic, as the last two games have been with NCFC being blunter than a butter knife then my opinion is people are entitled to have a good old moan about it.

I wont moan on here because it causes friction but I wont be happy if we are the same as most of the last 2.5 months.

I think you're being naughty, Carla, and Redruth is right. You're trying to stir things up and get everyone at each other's throats like they were a few days ago. Please don't. We all got on very well here until a few weeks ago whatever our differences.
