Lawro predicts the Swans will lose 2-1 to Arsenal. If all his predictions about our team were correct thus far, this is how we would look:

    Position: 18.
    Played: 29
    Won: 4
    Drawn: 9
    Lost: 16
    PointsL: 21

Alternatively, this joker is also getting another team totally wrong.

    Position: 6.
    Team: QPR
    Played: 29
    Won: 15
    Drawn: 5
    Lost: 9
    Points: 50

I think the BBC need to give him a different role, he doesn't seem to know much about football.

Another pundit too focused on the wrong aspects of a club - are they "big"? What were they like in the 70s? Are they in London? Do they have a sugar Daddy (irrespective of whether or how they spend the money)? Lawrense is beyond lazy as a pundit - to the point he is insulting.

Does it really matter what his predictions are? Of course it doesn't.

Just because a pundit makes a prediction doesn't mean it will come to fruition.

I think he is past his sell-by date as a TV pundit, but that's another issue.

However, having played at the highest level,I suspect he knows a lot more about football than anyone on this Forum.

I take it as an example of someone not being very good at his job which reflects more on him than us ,at the end of it all it is a prediction .

Really? We all thought it was bonkers to spend £20M on Downing and £35M on Carroll, and these were signing that were made by someone who played in the 1970's.

Playing at the highest level, doesn't make you more intelligent, or for that matter know more about the game Vetch! clearly you've forgotten how things were years ago, when anyone who was dull enough could get a football apprenticeship at clubs, and the usual entrants were those that had failed at everything else, and were too stupid for any academic apprenticeship. Bringing the issue up to date, I would say that Lawro is a good example of how dull you can be and yet achieve top level football, of course there is a lot of luck as well in getting on in the game, so I'm kind of saying I don't agree with your insight Vetch!................<laugh>

I`m not agreeing with Lawro Musty, he`s very much an oil checker as far as I`m concerned. But occasionally he is going to get 1 or 2 results right, hopefully he`ll get ours wrong again.

Where the hell did you get that from Phil - I played for the schoolboys and as daft as daiswan and I couldn't get a football apprenticeship. The only ones who didn't get it on pure skill got it 'cos their old man was constantly nagging and pushing scouts to give their kids a trial
I could have got a trail at Leeds - who were big then - not because I was good enough - not because my old man was a nag but because I was bonking the scouts daughter<diva>

When did I say that I thought Lawrenson was "intelligent",Dragon?
The inescapable fact is that he did play football at the very highest level. Now that does not equate to any level of intellect that he may,or may not, possess. He was simply good at football, albeit in the recent past. To ignore his footballing credentials is to ignore reality.
Just because he constantly predicts your team will lose doesn't alter anything.
I am no fan of Lawrenson, and the fact that he is not very good at predicting results merely makes him like the rest of us,human.
