Mm shame, if we can get someone just as good who's younger and cheaper then I'd much rather we did that Lets just hope we don't mess up like last summer.
Out - Downing 6m. In - Belhanda £10m Coates - 7m. In - Due Vrij £7m Skrtel - 10m. In Ogbonna 15m Carra. In Williams or Sakho 10m Shelvy 5m. In Alonso £8m Carroll. 17m. In Siem Due Jong £9m Spearing 3m. Hooper 6m I cheated on the last one. In 48m out 65m
He's a uruguayan keeper, plays for Galatasaray at the moment. He's a good keeper, 25 and has plenty of potential.
Basically, we need to buy half a new defense this summer. Carra is going, Skrtel I'm almost positive will be off (combination of pushed by BR and wanting to leave himself due to being dropped), Coates will probably leave too (BR doesn't seem to think he's worth giving any game time). I think Reina might stay if we finish the season strongly and get close to top 4 pointswise. Barca don't want him, they want ter stegen. United don't want him now that De Gea has started playing ok and would prefer Begovic anyway. He'll never go to Arsenal, it's not really a step up and they're sinking. Chavski don't need him. City don't. Most top european teams don't need keepers. He'll stay imo. Enrique will stay, Agger and Johno too. Also got Kelly and Wisdom to be backup RB and young cover CB. We need a backup LB, a starting CB to play alongside Agger who will be vocal and a no-nonsense leader, we need and experienced competition for the pair of them to keep them pushing - although I'd like to let Kelly get some gametime as CB. All these names of top defenders going around, we need to find the next cheap gem like Hyypia, Vidic and Kompany....somehow. Seriously, get our scouts on football manager. So many of the highly rated players on there in small teams usually end up at the big teams and playing to a high standard! The FM scouts are ****ing better than ours. We'd have bought Hazard for 2million 3 years ago if Kenny played it
Been keeping my eye on one of our ex player in joe allen and i must say i have not been that impressed by him myself and thought he would do better....what do the pool fans think? Does he deserve another season or should you sell him....
Since its been revealed that he is in need of surgery, plus he is only a young lad, he deserves time. But he has been shocking since October!
Not meaning to be harsh on him, But he's simply not good enough and wasn't even needed in the first place. He's nowhere big enough to play DM and not the least bit incisive to play further up, besides there are better players than him that deserves the nod. BR thought he was the Vital piece needed to instill his philosophy, which is just plain rubbish. He had a good start to the season but he isn't good enough and not likely to get any better to be a starter for us. Do us a favor and take him back, we wouldn't mind doing an exchange for Michu
Don't know about the prices but I think we need: A centre mid thats comfortable on the ball but can also tackle and isn't afraid of the dirty work (someone like James McCarthy @ Wigan) A left back that can attack and defend well (Dunno who, haven't seen enough football outside the PL this season) A winger/attacking midfielder than can create + score chances (A more senior version of Coutinho, someone to take the burden off Suarez. Ben Arfa? Mertens? Sanchez? Lamela?) A centre back that is dominant aerially and is comfortable playing a high line, must be quick + agile and also not a total disaster on the ball (Dunno, does such a thing even exist?) A goalkeeper that will challenge Reina, I would've said a replacement but he seems to be getting his form back and we might aswell give him another season, as reliable goalkeepers are really tough to find. I'd get rid of Brad Jones, Sebastien Coates, Joe Allen and Assaidi to fund these arrivals. Also I'd sell Downing, Enrique, Skrtel & Borini if we get decent offers for them or if we get players that are actually better than them in. Don't want to see someone like Skrtel sold to fund someone that is inferior to him though, which is probably what will happen...
Skrtel (12) - Dede (15) Coates (7) - Ogbonna (15) Borini (8) - Farfan (12.5) Spearing (1) - Diame (3.5) Carroll (15) - Aubameyang (8) Pacheco (1) - Eriksen (15) Shelvey (5) - Benat (10) Out:49m In:79m
Skrtel, 8m + Wilson, 2m - Dede, 10m Coates, 4m - *Williams, 8m Spearing, 2m - Erikson, 17m Carroll, 15m - Muniain, 12m Carragher (retired) Shelvey (season loan) Suso (season loan) out, 31m - in, 47m ... 16m spent *I know a lot of people are wary of us buying Williams but i just believe he is a good leader, there is no point in buying fresh young bright centre backs when our main problem is organisation and leadership at the back, and with losing Carragher we will be ridiculously poor in this area .. With Williams he will bring experience and a voice! For me everything depends on the price we can't be ripped off again .. i also believe Agger will become more vocal next season due to even more responsibility being our most senior centre back .. So then you'd have Dede, Agger and Williams, with Kelly (now 22 i believe) stepping up to be 4th cover and Wisdom if needed being 5th choice, for me thats what i'd love our defence to be next season...
Your losing eight players and only bringing four in, that's not going to be wise for a already small squad
I've thought about that but with the players i've chosen, in my opinion there's more quality there, with Spearing and Carroll already on loan we won't miss them anyway ... My belief with youngsters though which i can't believe clubs dont do more is extended loans.. Too often young players impress in our youth and get a few first team opportunities then slip backwards, Suso, Morgan, Robinson, Pacheco for example.. An idea that i think would work wonders is if we sent Suso (19 years old) on loan for 2 seasons to a club like Sporting Lisbon (just an example) who play the same style where he'd play games in a competetive league not always guarenteed to start but will get plenty of chances, gain plenty of experience and come back a much better player whereas at the moment he's not getting much of a look in and we're looking to strengthen further in the summer.. This then allows progress from our youth like Texiera, Dunn, Ibe to play maybe the 5/10 games Suso would get if he was with us which lets be realistic thats all he'll probably get next season even though we know he's a terrific prospect.. If you look at Coutinho for example, 20 years old, if we'd have bought him from Vasco De Gama when Inter did then in my opinion he would not be starting many games, he'd be another Suso for me still on the verges of a first team place ... another example Lukaku, a clear talent at Anderlecht, Chelsea could easily ruin him but his spell at West Brom is doing him wonders and if Chelsea know whats best for them they should want him to be a big part of their set up sooner rather than later So yeah maybe have shortened the squad a little but strengthened it with quality and with a view of developing our already progressing youth set up
