Another great soundtrack. Mind you war films generally do have them. Bridge Over the River Kwai. Hitler has only got one ball.
Just watched that the other day. Good film. Think it wiped the floor with Avatar to win at the Oscars, didn't it? Her new one Zero Dark Thirty is class as well. Another- Inglorious Basterds.
I'd chuck in "Sands of Iwojima" far better than flags of my fathers, also watched one the other day on you tube about north african soldiers fighting with the french in WW2 which was quite good...can't remember the name
that's a great film but did he die at the end ? Cliff Robertson ? He either dies or passes out, I can't find out which is true !
There are many to choose from that are classics. But WHERE EAGLES DARE starring Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton is always worth a watch. Strange that the end never changes.
All Quiet on the Western Front. Lawrence of Arabia. "No prisoners no prisoners" Black hawk Down is an absolute pile of ****ing ****.

As the war was in fact won on the Eastern Front, how about this one?
It was certainly left to the mind of the viewer to decide if he was dead or alive. I think I assumed from a young age he was a casualty of the war . Their is a scene in the film where Barbara windsor is sat next to a fire I believe. That pub is where me and the wife like to have a meal and a pint now and then. Lovely little pub called the jackdaw.
