three or four years ago we came close to buying a new forward from Newcastle by the name of Nile Ranger. WOW. we really dodged the bullet on that one. not only has he proved to be only a moderate player, his arrest record puts the Krays to shame. he was arrested again yesterday for assault. how can anyone who has the chance to make a fortune by playing a sport throw it all away? i doubt he will ever be employed as a professional footballer by anyone now. he is still only 21 years old. what does the rest of his life hold in store for him? at a guess, prison and the dole.
Sounds like just one more who´s ruined whatever chances he might have had, by letting all the hype go to his head. Very pleased we stayed well clear.
Disgrace isn't it? Just think what these clowns earn in a week and think how long we have to work to get the same, it makes you sick!! And so many just p*ss it away on gambling and loose women. i'm just jealous really!
This is what happens when young players get big contracts. It went to his head, I am sure Southampton do it, but part of bringing young players in should be keeping the lads feet on the ground. If you look at the Southampton youngsters they're all modest, sensible and determined to fulfil they're potential instead of going out splashing they're cash on some gash custom made car with ridiculous bass woofers.
The guy is a bit of an animal and has a screw loose - if not several - and i'd not want him anywhere near my club - but at the same time the provocation he gets is unrivaled. Relentless. - he cant go anywhere without getting started on. He isn't a brain - the guy doesn't come from a nice background like your Bale's or your Walcotts, just could, on occasion, kick a ball straight. I cant imagine he has had strong characters around him in the manner that i imagine the Bale's and the Theo's have. How many 21 year olds would take the abuse he has to? It's got nothing to do with the money, the length of contract, women or gambling. Just environment and upbringing. The papers & fans love to chat on about his arrests but aren't quite as interested in reporting the aftermath, which more often than not seems to be charges dropped. Thats my prediction for the latest one. And a busload more pissheads out to push whichever button the previous knuckledragger did. I wouldnt really blame someone in his position for retalliating anyway - imagine you've just been dropped by your club and facing the likely prospect that your career and dream is over at 21 - and then the sheer joy that people seem to get from rubbing your nose in this. The guys reputation precedes him and he won't ever escape that. All round a bit of a sad story. Watch him spiral.
I'd just release him from his contract, bad scoring record and looks like he'll never sort himself out. I agree with giving people second chances unfortunately some young people make some terrible decisions in their life, but if they constantly spit it back your face then I'd gladly cut them loose and tell them to get ****ed.
He is charged with assaulting his girlfriend, in public, at 7pm, not some random drunk 'fan' winding him up.
