Loic Remy already considering QPR exit

The France international striker moved to Loftus Road from Marseille in an £8m deal in January but has a relegation clause in his £75,000-a-week contract and is looking to leave

Loic Remy is considering a move away from QPR just two months after he joined the Premier League strugglers in an £8 million deal.

The 26-year-old striker arrived at Loftus Road in January and sources in France have told Goal.com that there is a release clause in his contract in the event that QPR are relegated.

WORTH THE HASSLE?

In any case, Remy could look to leave the Rs in the summer even if they survive the drop, with the Frenchman hoping to attract summer bids with his performances between now and the end of the season.

But he is unlikely to receive a contract offer worth more than the £75,000-a-week deal he picks up at QPR after agent Willie McKay brokered his transfer from Marseille in the winter window.

“He was in a bad moment with Marseille and it was the right time to leave, but Loic sees QPR as a step to a bigger club,” the source told Goal.com. “It is true he is on a good contract but other teams will take notice if he continues his form.”

Remy has scored three goals in five Premier League appearances, including goals in QPR’s last two matches to take the bottom-placed club to within four points of safety with nine games to play.

The France international moved to Rangers after failing to agree personal terms with Newcastle, finally joining up with Harry Redknapp after the QPR manager previously tried to sign him for Tottenham.

Remy had been one of the leading scorers in France in recent seasons but struggled for form and fitness before leaving Marseille, scoring just one Ligue 1 goal in 14 appearances.

Another case of 'state the bloody obvious'.
Can't see him being a Rangers player next season, whether we stay up or not.
But if he does the business and scores the goals that do ensure our survival then it would be money well spent and good luck to him .

The worst article I've ever read I can't be arsed to even point out the glaringly obvious bollocks.

So Newcastle weren't a useful stepping stone to the heavens then?

How's that work?

Half the article is filled with revelations about a release clause that we already knew about anyway.

If we stay up and he wants out then we should recoup a decent amount. That's if he can get the same wages elsewhere which obviously played a part in us acquiring him originally.

So, the 3 “revelations” in this story are that Remy has an exit clause in his contract in the event of relegation, so if we do get relegated then will almost certainly move on, but if we don’t get relegated and a big club come in for him with a strong bid then there’s still a chance he will move on anyway…

Honestly, do people actually get paid for this Sh1t?

Harry said at the time he was selling QPR to Remy et al as a way to get noticed by bigger clubs - why not put that in the article?

Couldn't care less what he does as long as he scores goals and we stay up.

If he gives his all whilst he's here then he's earned the right to do what he likes next season. Fernandes has already said that Remy will leaveif we go down, which is probably for the best considering the guy's wages. We won't need a 75k a week striker to get out of the championship. All this stuff about "shop window" has already been said by Harry and others hasn't it? Rubbish article. I think Remy will be very tempted to stay if we avoid relegation. He looks to be enjoying his time, he's settled, and seems to get along with the squad. Initially it sounded like a condition for his signing was that we went in for M'vila too. Perhaps if we sign up a couple more frenchies over summer Loic would fancy a crack at a 2nd season?
