Coloccini at San Lorenzo reserve game on Sunday.

Hope that uncomfortable chair isn't hurting his poor broken back. :emoticon-0112-wonde

I thought that too when I saw the news article and pic. Surely with a broken back that will keep him out for weeks, just sitting normally would be painful, if not impossible, at this stage?

That posture will do his broken back no good. Has this been a carefully managed PR exercise or have we all been watching too many documentaries about conspiracy theories?

I was wondering how he coped with sitting on a plane to Argentina for 15 hours.

I guess you just have to put up with that sort of discomfort in order to get to a country that has medical facilities. :emoticon-0105-wink:

(I really must stop being sarcastic. It's very unattractive........)

You shouldn't post that when THEY are watching. You might disappear in the night.

You've been watchign too many documentaries.

Everybody, give your heads a shake. What's the theory ? That the club, having told Coloccinin he cannot go back to Argentina until the summer, has conspired with him to fake X-rays of a broken vertebrae in order to allow him to go back to Argentina immediately, so as to leave ourselves with no senior CB cover for our run in and any Europa league matches ?

MA suddenly gone all soft and sentimental has he ? Or is there any conspiracy which makes this somehow in the club's interests ?

As for the photo, sitting upright and slightly forward places less strain on your low back than:

    a. lounging in a "comfy" chair

    b. standing for any prolonged period

    c. lying down.

MYM will be the real deal. 23 year old, captain of his previous club and a full French international. He will be better than colo in my opinion and dare I say it, taylor has looked alot better in his last few games playing alongside him. Our problem will be keeping him. Still can't believe we signed him.

Maybe your tongue was in your cheek area, but I don't know about our fellow posters - - there seems to be a lingering feeling that everything that's happened with Colo since January is somehow driven by ulterior motives. These theories have never made sense; the suggestion seemed to be that he was inventing a personal crisis so as to move ot a smaller club for a massive pay cut. I think that same level of critical analysis has indcued some of our brethren to indeed question the veracity of the vertebral fractures

Oh Freddd, if you're going to be sensible about this, you'll spoil all my fun!

I don't doubt that he has a sore back and would not suggest that the club has "faked X-rays" etc. But do you not find it strange that his injury was played down a number of times before it officially became a "broken back"? This was only announced after he had already gone to Argentina allegedly to spend time with his family and have treatment with the national team's medical people.

I'm not suggesting a "conspiracy". But something doesn't add up -- hasn't totally made sense since this whole "personal problems" debacle began.

Anyway, his return should be imminent as Pardew said he had gone for a week. Perhaps things will become clearer.

No Lady E you may not say Williamson, it's a very naughty word. Lol
Did notice when Colo made that overhead kick, that he looked like he had hurt himself in the process. I think he tried hard not to show that he had hurt himself, but it was obvious that he was in pain.
Not sure why he would have needed to go all the way back to Argentina for medical assistance, seems a bit odd.
Just hope that he comes back and plays again, it would be very sad to think that he had played his last game for us, without the fans knowing that was the case.
Surely, it's unthinkable that he might be gone with no intention of coming back ?

He wasn't what you would call walking 'freely' around the ground after coming off.
