Some of our fans aren't happy about it either , particularly the ones who can't make it to the game now , not sure they really needed to move this game

I can see why they've done it though. Particularly because Watford play on the Friday night that weekend. It means we would have had 1 1/2 days rest between games and they would have had 2 1/2 which is a very big difference in terms of recovery. Physiologically that's the time frame your muscles need to recover from an intense period of exercise. Put simply they would be feeling ready to play and we'd have been ****ed.

The Watford game is a huge one considering the way we've been leap-frogging each other to get 2nd place lately. Everyone knows the importance of the game including the players and management and that sometimes causes a bit of trepidation which in turn could make players tighten up on the night. However after listening to the excited way SB talked about this game to Burnsy it's clear that he's really relishing it and that sort of positivity will definitely rub off on the players. It's just one more example of how invaluable a good experienced manager is.

IMO, the Watford game could come down to it beuibng there last chance saloon for a top 2 spot.

I can see Watford dropping at least 2 points @ Barnsley on saturday. Cardiff look like they have lost there insperational capt. Mark Hudson again after last nights Lesta game and that will be a massive miss for them with Ben Turner already missing through injury.

Win the next 3 games and IMO that will knock the stuffing out of our rivals. <ok>

Hull City vs Watford will decide who finishes 2nd IMO. It's not the biggest game since Wembley, because I'd say the home game against Manchester United back in 2009 was bigger. It was make or break and between us and Newcastle to go down.

This is however, the decider for me. We need to keep consistent and if we stay at least 2 points clear, then beat Udinese Reserves, we'll be 5 points clear.

I'm quietly optimistic that City can snatch the title from Cardiff this year, Cardiff's form has taken a slight dip recently, and they struggled against a worryingly (from a Leicester perspective) out-of-form Leicester side.

We've closed the gap and we're hot on their heals. Come on City! UTT!

It's very unlikely that the table will look the same when we play them, someone will drop points somewhere. And even if it is and we play them still 2 points ahead it won't decide anything. Them winning would put them one point ahead which means nothing. It's not going to be 'decided' that early.

On terms of morale and belief, it may well do.

Obviously I'm not saying the result is guarenteed, but it'll be hard to recover the spot if either team lose.

IMO, we're promoted if we beat them.

    Nonsense.

If we win this weekend and they lose, then even them beating us would only put them in the position they are now - 2 points behind.

Equally if we lose this weekend and at Huddersfield and they win both of their matches then they will be 4 points clear of us before our game and beating them would only put us back in touching distance. Nothing will be decided in 3 games time when we're all still so close together and still a few games from the end of the season. That is unless of course we win our next two and they lose both. Then beating them would put us 11 points clear and then it pretty much would be decided. But that isn't going to happen.

All of these variables in the meantime just prove how daft it is talking about the implications of the result now.

I have a feeling that the title won't be decided until the last day, with three of the top four in the mix. All of the contenders are dropping points in the most unlikely games so I am not worried about the result in any particular one like Watford (ex. the last game in this scenario!).

Mind you, the moral is so important and beating Watford would give us a lift and scupper theirs.

    Pessimist. ;)

I'm obviously taking it as results have gone so far, if us and Watford continue at this pace and remain 2 points apart, then obviously the Watford game holds great significance. At this time of the Season, the next game is the most important, but the ones against the teams threatening your position could potentially make or break one or the other's ambitions.

This argument is clearly invalid, because we can only predict or assume what's going to happen. There's so many possibilities that this is ridiculous.

The good ol' cliché, "one game at a time".

Hallelujah! At last the penny drops - the next game is our only focus - that's exactly how the dressing room will see it.

It really doesn't though. With the gaps to the two teams basically the same look at the impact a Leicester win would have on our chances of hanging on or improving.

Even if we have a blip it would take extremely unlikely circumstances for Leicester to be the side that threaten to take 2nd place off us as there are two other sides in the equation, so their winning is pretty much irrelevent, all it will do is decide which position in the playoffs we finish.

Cardiff on the other hand are the only team in the title race with us if we have a good run.

Higher probability of importance if we have a good run vs Lower probability of importance if we have a bad run.

WFC seem to carry on whatever one result sdeos. We ghaven't lost 2 in a row since October, or maybe September. If we maintain our current form, which has held good since 1st jan, (i.e. 2 points/game), WFC will get 82 before the last game.
In fact, if all 4 teams at top hold their current form (either 5 or 10 games, averaged) it looks like 3 clubs on 84/85 and Palarse on 81/82.

If it is decided on the last day, then, if all 3( or 4) teams are points equal (WFC prob. top by virtue of GD), Hull vs Cardiff could scupper both teams. WDFC would have best chance (against tired Leeds, shame). Everybody on this site seems to ignore this game - I think that's the biggest game for you lot.
Palarse have got Peterboro. Nobody has the faintest idea what to expect fom them).

What I dread (as a Hornet supporter) is Hull & cardiff equal on points 3 ahead of Watford as last game starts, esp as we should have a better GD. As someone else has said, Austria vs Germany 1982. You wouldn't do that would you ?

Honestly? We'll be too busy singing about how much we hate Leeds with our Taffy mates to notice anything on the pitch.

It's a big game, but there's 6 matches after it.

We can win that but still balls it up.

Let's see what happens in the Forest match.
