Think Amsterdam arena has this facility too? Not sure why The Allams cant fork out a bit more cash and install this facility @ the KC!
I would imagine as the facilities are there for much longer it'll be worse but I really wasnt going down the damage route, more that it is preventing the most important repair period of the whole year. Fair enough, it's only me and BSMan who think this and maybe we're wrong but in my head the worries are perfectly valid. We all agree the pitch is ****e, the manager has berated it publicly many, many times and we get so few extended 'non use' periods throughout the year yet we're throwing away the most important one.
I agree with you too, I tried to post something in agreement earlier but the site didn't like it. ****ing mods messing about again no doubt.
Plenty of time in the summer to grow a new pitch ffs. Its not as though Hull FC will be needing extra dates is it ?
There's nothing wrong with this. If anything, it's better for the City as a whole as it may lead some new tourists into the City who haven't before/in a while and hopefully return home with a more positive perception of the City. The Allams have always said that they're looking to invest into the City as they hold the City of Hull responsible for their found wealth and prosperity. It's in the Summer, so there'll be enough time for the pitch to recover. Nothing to worry about.
So playing Devil's Advocate, if there is plenty of time after this has finished why do all clubs start massive renovation works on their pitches literally the day after the season finishes? If it's not an issue they could all wait until June.
I'd guess if we're getting a new pitch laid, it will be sat somewhere else to grow properly ready to be put in when the KC is empty.
Probably because they have not been able to attract anything else. Sunderland, on my doorstep, have concerts in June, so your argument has flaws. Might be wrong, but is there not a clause in the KC agreement that encourages such community events?
**** knows, but there is more than one and they aren't going to build / dismantle more than once. Fact is all of the detractors seem to be arguing on assumptions - has it been announced that a new pitch is being laid? What is the shortest time, prior to competitive games, has a new pitch been laid? I would expect the detractors to have these answers to support their criticism.
http:// http://www.kestrelcontractors.co.uk/case-studies/football-southampton-fc-returf.php If it is to be a new surface then this might give you more peace of mind - a simple Google does the job.
Nowhere near as bad as this 'pitch' all those years ago... http://www.britishpathe.com/video/special-bristol-rovers-v-hull-city
What has 'the shortest time' got to do with anything? This isn't Record Breakers, it's about having the best opportunity for us to be a success.
He sponsors the event anyway, and one would suspect the venue to receive a cut of the money for the advertising boards at these events. Take it out of the left pocket and put it in the right pocket.
Apart from the football, I reckon this squash thing could be one of the best event to happen at the Circle
It's got everything to do with it. You want it to have a chance so what is the shortest time from laying to playing that the installers will guarantee? Judging from the examples covered it is very short and that means the concerns are baseless and the squash is a well thought through business idea and that should answer the opening post more than adequately - unless you have something further?
