The watford forums really do think we are ****. Even after todays game they think that we can do no better than 4th place this season.
Let them think what they like - they didn't think that way when their manager said we were a different class when we beat them so easily down there in December. Clearly not a great performance tonight accepted but one that was needed after two poor results and goals conceded against Bolton and Palarse.
Phweeew.......glad that one's over..............i know this sounds a bit ******ed but stick with me, i believe it's not the games we win it's how many we might lose. I think if we convert a potential loss into a draw or two that, along with 5/6 wins gets us over the line, ex: how much does it hurt us to lose against Forrest and Watfordo rather than draw, it's only 2 points but the nature of the oppostion makes it of greater importance......
Watford have the April fixture list from hell. So they had better be ready for bad news down Hertfordshire way. Palace dont play again until sunday with a visit to Brighton. CP will do well to get a draw on the south coast. imo
I agree, but City just need to win as many games and pick up as many points as possible. We don't want our goal difference to be our downfall, as dark horses like Bolton and Forest might just come up on the rails without being noticed. Great start in doing this last night, doesn't matter now how we win, even if we win ugly.
It's now down to the fans. Of the 5 remaining home games we have 4 really hard games. If we win them we go up if we fail to win a couple we will struggle. The fans have to turn up and do their bit now and push the players over the wining line at the KC. UTT
27 points left.............and 3 of them are available Saturday, against Forest. Watford might not get 3 at Barnsley, nor might Cardiff against the Wendies and Leicester at Pride Park. It's all in our hands! UTT
I reckon our away form will pick us up some valuable points over the next 2 months. Huddersfield, Ipswich, Wolves and then Barnsley are all winnable, and with most of them needing wins to avoid the drop so I expect them to attack us in every game, giving us better counter attacking opportunities. 3 points before the international break is a must though.... I hope the lads bust a gut this weekend. 1-0 to city.
I wouldn't be too downhearted if we draw on Saturday after getting the 3 points on Monday, however we will kill Forest's hope of automatic promotion should we win
I think we will get 5 points out of 27. A win against Bristol city and draws against Huddersfield and Cardiff. Forest to beat us 3-0. Is 73 points enough to make the play offs?
They're what, 10 points and 4 places behind us? They have no automatic promotion hopes. They'd need to overturn a massive deficit and hope that 4 teams above them mess it up too.
Sorry , but I don't agree. WFC supporters would certainly like to win at KFC to finish above Hull - don't think we expect to. In fact, from the 10 WFC games I've seen, Hull have been the only team who outthought us over the whole game. Also, the atmosphere at KFC is the best i've experienced for the home team. A draw would probably be not too damaging. Now having said all that, WFC have the best record over last 5, last 10 and since january. ( In fact, if the season had started on 1st Jan, then WFC would now be 3 points clear of Cardiff). (But it didn't!) If all top 4 teams maintain their current form, then it looks like Cardiff 85 Hull 84+ Watford 84 Palarse 82. But if we are locked together with 1 ganme to play, I'd much rather be WFC - playing Leeds (who should ahve lost all interest in the season, shame) than Palarse - playing Peterboro, still precarious, and of course the other two.... What fun!
Agreed. Now is not the time to worry about performances or entertainment. Its the business end of the season When Only Wins Matter Most. 8 more boring 1-0 wins will do me just fine. **** sky and there viewers now. Forest are so up themselves they will arrive very cocky i suspect and that will play into our hands. City to win and Cardiff-Watford and Palace all to drop points. The rest dont matter anymore,, imo. Oh, as a big thank you to Forests owners All Hull City fans should join in with the song """Thank you very much for Georgie Boyd - thank you very very much""".
If we must look forward, then here is a view to embrace: Steve Bruce has openly stated that he believes another 6 games will see us safe, so if we work on 6 then we should be happy with 83 points. Last 5 seasons: 88 – 84 – 91 – 83 – 79; so it might appear he will be in the zone. (A bit of an edge would be comforting) How do we do this, after all it is just another December and a manager of the month for SB; so nothing hard there then? Who did we play in December? Forest (AW) Watford (AW) Hudds (HW) Derby (AW) Leics (HD) TWS (HW) Our six games from his interview: Burnley (AW) – Job done Forest (H) – (AW) Hudds (A) - (HW) Watford (A) – (AW) Boro (H) – (AL) Ipswich (A) – (HW) Wolves (A) – (HW) Our next 3 games were all disposed of as recently as December when our defence was as it can be now, but our attacking and midfield options were more limited – 2 of those games were away. Forest has their iconic manager back and he has them on a run. There is so much non-football controversy around Hudds the danger is the game gets lost in the noise (or lack of it). Watford are the same team we played then, but if they turn up in the first half . . . What about Boro, who saw us off with a spanking or Ipswich who we beat when they were very down at heart? As back up maybe Wolves, fighting for their pride? Bristol (A), Barnsley (A), Cardiff (H) For me we need to do another December – do the double on them and win them one game at a time and seal it up early; I certainly don’t see Watford (another thread) as being a key game, if anything Boro will be much bigger in confidence terms to push us on.
