It will be the same with every game here on in IMO I see the Villa as a game we can win Villa have Liverpool United and Chelsea to play and unless they find some better form there are points I would say they will struggle to eat into plus the killer v Wigan on the last Sunday . Looks set up to me for a bit of excitement lads as it could easily be 9 teams in the mix
Col we may be in the worse position, we may even get relegated but in football playing terms Reading are the worst team in the league. This is not my 'dislike' for Reading but as someone who has watched football over many years. As i said name me a player from Reading you would have in our team? As for the 'new manager effect' i read a good artical that said 'you can't turn water into wine' even with Sir Alex i think they are doomed but as i have said many times, as long as we play well then it's in our hands.
really good thread lads, and respect (generally!) shown to the Royals club, much appreciated ... if you weren't serious rivals I'd wish you all the best!
D other than the usual crap i spout i am sure you would agree with my earlier point about investment (or lack of it when it was needed)? Also the timing was wrong to get rid of Matt. If he was to go then Nov/Dec was the time if not why change with 9 games to go? If you go down i still think he was the man to bring you up again? I think the Russian bloke is full of 'hot air' and although you never spent huge money, Madjetski ran a good ship. Anyway, we shall see what happens over the next few games.
that's it, I don't hold too much hope TBH, but if Reading become a yo-yo club it's still much more than we dared hope for back in the 80s and 90s ... how do you see your last games going? There's generally no great quality at the bottom so in theory anyone on a bit of a run could jump to safety ...
For me i reckon now its a bit too much for Reading to stay up because of the recent losses at home to Wigan/Villa which you needed to win. You do have some tough games to come which i can't see you winning. i'm not on about us but ManU/Arse/Liverpool/City, however it's not over yet. Hard to call. Villa is the key game for us and i believe if we win that we will be ok, lose and it's back to square one, draw not end of the World. As long as we win our home games and get a result away we may do the 'Great escape'? Everyone wrote us off so it would be nice to prove them wrong. Agree i thought Saints would beat us before we played them. I also think 1-2 teams will fall into the battle soon and maybe one to get out of it. Still very close. Anyway who do you want as your new manager?
We played well for the 1st time all season against Sunderland, I think we will do it if we beat Villa, lose to them and it will be very difficult.
