Think even though Blackpool are a side with a similar budget to our own, they have enough money in the club to be able to afford such a scheme. We on the other hand are very much in need of all the pennies we can get. As unfair as it feels to be paying even more for ST's next season, when this year has been the dullest one for about 8 years, the club need to balance the books and can't afford to 'reward' us. Though I believe there are one or two new 'added benefits' for being an ST-holder next year, though I can't remember what they are. Watching a pre-season training session or something I think is one of them.

Karl Oyston paid himself £11m bonus in 2011 from Blackpool FC.

Their financials are a lot better

Blackpool are putting their prices down for the same reason that we are putting ours up: to bring in more money. Whose approach is more effective? We'll see, but with the country aboiut to enter a triple-dip recession, it may well be that Blackpool's owners have made a shrewd move here.
