    Morning Peeps!

Dubious question... Would you have Owen back when Manu release him?

Personally I would. He made a choice back in 2004 which he probably regrets but if you look at it from his point of view the club wasn't showing any signs of moving to the next level and he wasn't getting any younger. We'd just had an ugly last season under Houllier and the Real Madrid offer was his last chance if you like to move to another big club. He never spouted any **** about us like a certain Chelsea striker and he didn’t go straight to a major rival. In fact I’m sure he still loves Liverpool to the core.

Fair enough the Manu stuff pissed even more on his reputation among Kopites but if once again you look at it from his point of view, he'd been released by Newcastle and United offered him work? I've no doubt that they weren't his first choice, I'd like to think we were but with the lack of solid offer on the table that wasn't going to happen.

With KK back in charge and the new season beckoning with a glowing summer I think the opportunity to bring him back as a squad player is a good one we should take...

    Opinions?

I personally think he'd be a waste. He's 31 now, still as injury prone as ever and will cost a bomb in wages that we're trying to cut down. Not to mention the fact we've got a multitude of strikers and I think the youngsters deserve more of a chance than he does.

I don't think he has anything left to contribute to us, and I believe AF only offered him work to piss us off.

I remember when he came begging when he was leaving Real. I'd love it to happen again and we can tell his to piss off again.

As i'v said before, Owen plays for Owen, not for one team. He's made his bed.

    Hope he goes to Wrexham.

    Fair enough! lol

I see your point about the youngsters Ze, I would like to see Eccleston get a run out in the team or bench just so we could get an accurate assesment of his ability, he scored a few from the bench for Charlton but hasn't done much in a Liverpool shirt. Pacheco is another one obviously but having seen him play mainly wing for Spain and a bit for Norwich I'm not sure he or the club see him as a striker anymore.

Can't wait to see if Adjoran and Morgan can make the grade!

    No.
He ended his status as a Liverpool legend when he signed for that club.He broke an unwritten rule that if you come out of Liverpools academy you do not ever join them, you do what Robbie Fowler and Macca did,you join a club their fans hate.God joined City and Leeds,Macca joined City.Even Le Sulk having played for us played for City.

He's too old, he's injury prone and he's played for United. It's a no from me.

Michael ''Once a Manc never a red'' Owen should not have even played in Carra's testimonial. He should never set foot in Anfield again. He should be abused from now on no matter who he plays for, having played for the skanks.

If Owen was useful and effective then I might see a point to this thread. He isn't. Not fit, not durble no pace no fitness as he hasn't played a lot of games over the last couple of years. Oh and probably last on my list for not taking him would be "he went to United".

If you are going down that road why not email Kenny and advise that he pick himself on match day:)

Please never suggest this ever again. Despite not being useful anymore as a player i despise him.

Every stupid twitter remark he makes sends me closer to hunting him down and removing his balls with a spoon and feeding them to him. Freddy Shepherd said he was the worst signing he ever made. No loyalty- only ever cared about his personal England career. No personality. No idea! And an emotionless face barren of anything interesting apart from a small hint of smugness.

These are my feelings, so in summary no i would not be keen to sign him (excluding the fact we don't want Utd's cast-offs)

As boring as Nigel Mansell,Steve Davis,Stephen Hendry and Ryan Giggs combined, more disloyal than Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez and Mo Johnston combined.I hope he ends up at the worst place ever.....Goodison.

I'd say no. There was a time when we'd welcome someone of his age/experience on a free transfer, but that time isn't now. Maybe if he was a defender, but we're fine for options up front as it is.

That time was when we were owned by Hicks and Gillett.
We're no longer owned by Hicks and Gillett so Owen can go rot.

Is that why he's leaving United in the summer?

If he joined Everton after leaving Newcastle,He would have remained a Liverpool Legend, for two reason.Everton have had their fair share of Liverpool cast-offs over the years.Secondly He's a boyhood bluenose. So thats understandable. What he did do however is piss all over the Liverpool shirt by signing for that club.He has been abused and should expect more abuse as he deserves nothing but abuse. As for him coming back,I would sooner see Diouf back, and he's a scumbag. But the difference is,Diouf never played for the dirty scum rag bastards. He played for the Scottish version...Rangers.

I don't agree. I wouldn't hate him as much as I do now, but I certainly would not be please. Going to our bitter rivals?

Players go from Everton to Liverpool, not the other way round!
