Will Mig still be here? Will he want to be here next season?
Will Sess (only decent player again) still be here?
Will ES think enough is enough and go?
Will MON still be here? Do you still want him here?

    Worrying times

What worries me personally is that I am now starting to think that we may need to go down to rebuild from scratch

The team isnt good enough to come back up. Would we have the investment to rebuild. I dont even want to think about going down to the championship again.
We should be a bloody well established mid table team now WITHOUT any fear of relegation at all.

There is no guarantee it would not end like Wolves, or are they going down another level to build again?

If we go down we will not come back up simple as that. We have squandered money on so called PL players who are either too old or too injury prone or just plain crap. We have not progressed since we came up 5 or so years ago in fact I'd say we have gone backwards. I'll say this again we need to buy hungry young players and spend big money on them if we are to get anywhere near the likes of Swansea, West Brom even the barcodes who after 2 seasons back are just below us on goal difference.
MON will keep us up but only just and, if he does not buy well in the Summer and improve the standard of football served up especially at home then he will be under more pressure than he has been anywhere else in his career. The crowds will dwindle the money will dwindle and ES will notice this as he is all about the money, this season is a right off (March FFS) for me at least it's all about survival now.
Who is to blame for this? personally it's all down to MON and the players something is not right at our club still (after 40 or so years of supporting the lads) that is what needs sorting out and fast or we will be forever also rans just scraping survival like Southampton and Coventry did a few years ago.

Apart from fletch and Danny graham the rest are poor. Good manager that needs the boardrooms help to build a better team around these two players for next season...

    Mignolet
    Rose
    Cattermole
    Johnson
    Sessegnon
    Fletcher

Build the team around that and have a go next season. This season is now simply about preserving premier league status. We simply must beat Norwich

    you need to change manager.

ONeill is hugely over-rated and it's showing here.

Yes, he won silver wear in Scotland but that was with Celtic. Anyone with a bit of football knowledge really would have a very good crack at this and I would include posters from both of these boards in that.

Looking at Leicester, he won the league cup twice, but we have just seen a final between Bradford City and Swansea in that competition which is yet more proof that it is not taken hugely seriously by the really big teams as they have the CL and FA Cup, not to mention the PL to concentrate on.

Then there are Villa, yes, he did well there, as in he had a respectable win % and got them their best league placements for a while, but his net total spend of over £80mil in just four years exposes the problem. This constitutes more than half of Villas net spend in the PL era, an era in which they are comfortably the sixth highest spender. To put £20mil / season net spend in context, here are some other net spends:

    Manure in the Prem: £10mil
Queen Kenny at 'Pool recently: £25mil
    Steve Bruce at SAFC: £1.5mil

Yeah - the quality that is Danny Graham!! He's been poor mate - very poor - Sessegnon, Cattermole, Mignolet, Fletcher - Team is built around that for me. N'Diaye has shown glimpses but is only just staring in the PL so will see what happens next season with him (if we're still up there).

Graham should be a bench player - certainly no better than Wickham and not as big, strong or quick. 14 or whatever goals in a good footballing side like yours is one thing - in a side that are struggling and aren;t playing well it's too big a jump for him to change his game (or us to change ours) - Graham isn't that good mate

I would like to see Adam Johnson come good but his confidence is shot - still top assist maker and 3rd or 4th top scorer for us but his overall play hasn't been very good

All my answers are based on you staying up (cause I honestly believe you will)

1 entirely dependant on who comes knocking and what they offer...Manure, Citeh, Spurs and Chelski seem to have their GK position well sewn up - Arsenal will be linked, but aside from them, I don't see anyone as being in a particularly strong position in comparison to you...I'm gunna go for a YES

2 YES, whilst Sess has been your best performer he doesn't offer enough consistency to command a really high fee (that would be needed to tempt You into selling) I also think his lack of clearly defined role may put potential suitors off...

3 Nah, he bought a Premier League team and still owns a Premier League team, he won't get back any of his investment in playing staff if he sells and you stand to take in big money with this new TV deal.

4 yes, but I think you should get rid. CS said it, his record at Villa is massively skewed by his expenditure and he blew huge amounts on some really **** players...his scouting leaves little to imagination as well - pretty much solely focused on the over inflated Premier League players. You need someone new, young and possibly continental to give the club a new life cz at the minute, buying average players from mod-table sides is only going to lead one way...
