If you take each game in isolation, then yesterday's was probably the most difficult of our run-in, given Spurs' current form. Everton and Chelsea are tricky on paper but we ought to win the rest. Sadly, football isn't played on paper and any bastard thing can happen.
There is no way that we will catch or get remotely near to catching Chelsea or Tottenham. Its only an outside chance of catching Arsenal too. Despite all and sundry in the media saying we have extremely good form against the lower rank sides, we also have an habit of losing to them, aka Villa! We have nine games left, I'd be surprised if we win five of them TBH
I have just had a quick look at the run-in games for the top 7 and I reckon that given we have a relatively easy run (don't laugh - given our performance against some the 'easy' 3 pointers earlier in the season) compared to others and we could take 5th. A few odd mistakes by Chelsea and if Agent Rafa does his job, we could, just maybe pinch 4th. Anyway, I reckon this is how it will finish up: Man Utd 92 Man City 77 Spurs 73 Chelsea 70 Liverpool 69 Everton 68 Arsenal 67
BR said at beginning of season that Liverpool will get second place in the EPL . Might still come true .
MITO - all we need is a strong finish to give us the momentum going into the new season with the system more practised and the players used to each other. Other than that I think it's speculative to hope for anything out of this season. Each game as it comes from now until the end of the season.
hang on.... outside chance of catching a side only a few points ahead? I say we've a decent shout at 5th now. i really do. 5 out of 9.. i think we've a decent shout at more than that meself. like saint said "any bastard thing can happen" who knows but there's the run in anyway so lets see.
