HCFC is what was sprayed on Walls around the Quadrant Area in the Early 70's . Also the chant HC HCF HCFC
In honesty, the majority of city supporters, who have backed the club years use HCAFC.. its mainly younger fans who moved from 'mufc' etc. over the past few years that call us 'HCFC' because they have a lack of knowledge of the club they follow. And the 'Co Ltd' wouldnt work because there is no mention of company which is what the 'co' is shortened for, but many football clubs would have LTD at the end of their names if this was the case. The LTD only shows that you can buy shares because it is a private limited company.
South Y Tiger I had HcFc all over my school books in the mid 60s early 70's and HCFC was Sprayed all over the Place.. The HC ... HCF...HCFC... OK* Chant was sung in the Early 70's never saw HCAFC sprayed on Walls .. maybe it's the HCAFC that's newer ( not that it matters )
Anyone who graffitis is hardly likely to be intelligent though. I'm not sure they're the people you should be relying on. Can we now get back on topic and discuss the injustice that has occurred with this so called flag.
but it doesn't bother me. the latest incarnation of halifax town is called fc halifax town. porto is fc porto. it's like the hull/hull city thing in some ways. for years i stood at bp and sat at the kc and heard people singing "we are 'ull, we are 'ull, we are 'ull" yet half of them get upset if someone calls us hull. my view is that the A in afc was originally put there to distinguish the sport from rugby. but rugby is a minor sport, not relevant in the real world any more. when 99.9% of people see hcfc they don't wonder if we play rugby or football, just like 99.9% of people don't automatically think of a rubgy club when they see a sports reference to a team called hull. people complain about rugby clubs calling themselves football clubs. so what? if someone insists on hcfc being wrong and hcafc being correct, then in order not to be a hypocrite, they must always refer to the sport as "association football". if they ever call it simply "football" then they're a hypocrite and have made my point for me.
I have an amusing story about a stolen French tri colour, the Plymouth to Santander ferry, the Bay of Bisque and a mistaken rucksack. It will have to wait for another time but needless to say I was very, very drunk.
