    It's all over the press today that Owen will not be offered a new contract by the mighty Stoke due to his poor Injury record (surprise, surprise).
    I also picked up on this article about our former striker..... what a bitter man he seems to me.......

    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/michael-owen-accuses-newcastle-fans-of-being-hypocrites/?

    His value might have plummeted on the pitch but Michael Owen is still great comedy value off it.

    He obviously sees Lionel Messi when he looks in the mirror, or at the very least Ryan Giggs who is still doing the business (on the pitch! …cough cough) despite being six years older than the washed-up nobody that is Michael Owen now.

    In the lead up to yesterday’s match, Owen couldn’t help himself and went onto Twitter to say this;

    “Just signed autographs for about 40 Newcastle fans outside our hotel. Not one single bad word spoken towards me. I reckon them exact same people will be booing the life out of me should I appear on the pitch today!!!”

    To be quite honest I totally forgot during the match that Owen was even in the stadium, never mind on the bench.

    As well as having comedy value, Michael’s signature is apparently still worth a few quid, at least to a Liverpool fan in the far east on Ebay anyway.

    Yes Michael the autograph hunters weren’t nasty to you…because they wanted your bloody autograph you arrogant little…bench warmer.

    Some of them may well have been Newcastle fans and the odd one might have also been inside St.James’ Park for the match but I wouldn’t be taking punters desperate for your signature as any guide to your true popularity.

    ACS - I personally thought he had a great game against us for Stoke.
    Here is a heatmap of his key action areas......

    surprised he did not pull a muscle picking up the pen. I knew he was on the bench, and was fearing he would hunt us.

    hope he has some of them spare brochures to send out again

    Those embarrassing brochures, he was certainly ill advised about that, but where's his common sense! <doh>

    Fair play to the guy.

    He got a splinter in his backside when he was warming the bench and couldn't make an appearance.

    Sure have, but we were better off when some of them didn't play.
