Anyone read the article headlined "Are they still Wycombes`s wanderers" on the BFP website. The paper seems to have gone from indifferent support to open hostility. In an opinion piece that praises Wasps and even the fr**ing Franchise!!! the BFP takes a cheap shot at the blues and our current financial plight. Dont they realise that wasps intent is to relocate and the franchise is already covered by its own local papers` sport pages and with no blues in a few years time if the paper still exists all it will have in the back pages is the local schools cross country results. time for a boycott???
feel seriously p*ssed off at that article, but what is really irritating is how the writer has made things up to back his opinion up - we did not struggle to see out against chelsea - "they got just over 6,000 fans (2,000-odd were away fans, from memory) for a promotion play-off game against Stockport" we got over 6,000 where 1,500 were away fans... and any article that states "from memory" is pathetic! - "Wanderers can point to big cup days....But those games were decades ago" so the 2007 chelsea game was a decade ago? - "Today’s team isn’t full of local players" scowen, dunne, stewart, mcclure, hause... thats better than most teams! what he also neglects to mention is the sell out against notts county, the 8,700 (roughly) crowd for the southend promotion game and the fact that all lower league teams are getting lower attendences atm our local media should be supporting up, not bringing us down. BFP are getting close to the level of the pathetic 3CR, who seem to ignore our existance whilst licking MK and luton's boots http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/10275246.Are_they_still_Wycombe_s_Wanderers_/
"I’m sure I will be public enemy number one among the Blues faithful for even asking if trading on goodwill is enough these days." well looking on facebook, the gasroom and speaking to other WWFC fans, he got that bit right!!!
To be fair, there are a couple of sentences I wouldn't argue with. I think the blame must go to the Chief Editor who sanctioned the article and who is responsible for taking the Blues off the back page. Personally, I am more offended by the latter.
The reporter who wrote that crap piece IS a fan of Franchise and is proud of it so what should we expect?
The BFP website gives his e-mail address, perhaps an inbox full of blues fans challenging his facts and the quality of his article, without getting abusive will make him up his game
