Absolutely, ill be having a saver on Our Mick without a doubt, the same would apply to the Druids Nephew in the novice handicap chase he worries me a lot!
Have decided to do an e/w round robin on ; Monkerty Tunkerty -- seems a strong traveller, jumps well, and a very able pilot. Sirene D'ainay -- a french raider, front runs, has won decent races in france, trainer in top form, could be a surprise. Forgotten Gold-- PB has opted for this over Arthurs Pass, handicap debut, but has form here. best of luck to all .
BEST OF LUCK EVERYBODY GETTING INVOLVED. HOPE YE MAKE A KILLING HERES MY FEW Champagne Fever Simonsig (NB) Midnight Chase THE FLY (NAP) Sizing Austrailia (E/W) Kentford Grey Lady (E/W) Carlito Brigante
Hi All,been a while since I have been on to post. I have backed the following for tomorrow : My Tent Or Yours / Cheltenian Simonsig Our Mick / Pete The Feat (5 places @ 28/1 I think is a cracking bet for this horse) Hurricane fly A New Story (just for its course record) Quevega Colour Squadron Heres to a cracking festival and a few winners between all of us !!
My Tent or Yours and Hurricane Fly are great lay bets tomorrow. The Supreme is a graveyard for favourites and it wont be the first time for the same trainer/jockey combination getsturned over on a very fancied horse in the first, As impressive that performance looked by MTOY at Newbury they strolled for the first mile and half and didnt quicken up until they came to the last 2 hurdles, It was abit of a farce of a race in all honesty. And at the end of the day its still handicap form. Hes never been to the festival and as never even stepped foot on Cheltenham turf I just cant see it personally, I'd much rather look for abit of value in Dodging Bullets around 9's with most firms than take a 7/4 shot in the opener. As for Hurricane Fly hes clearly a good horse, But even as a former Champion Hurdler Im unsure weather Cheltenham totally suits him. If this was run around Leopardstown he would be a certainty. I just think he won a moderate Champion Hurdle in 2011 - I mean the 2nd and 3rd that day are both going for the World Hurdle this year. The race couldn't have gone better for him either, It was a moderate pace and he had the better turn of foot when it mattered. Last year he was run off his feet coming down the hill after the tempo Overturn and Rock on Ruby set and he was outstayed up the hill, His turn of foot didnt matter. The ground as come for him tomorrow but I can't see the race being ran at a dawdle, It won't suit many of the horses in the field like Countrywide Flame, Zarkandar, Rock on Ruby all 3 will be sat handy and all 3 stay very well. I can see it being a good end to end gallop, And more of an emphasis on stamina and Hurricane Fly's stamina around Cheltenham is suspect for Me espcially after last year when he was comprehensively outstayed up the hill. All this bull about him not being right last year only came about after he was turned over at odds of 4-6, We wouldn't have heard a thing had he hacked up. I just don't buy it and I dont buy his form this year, Hes not exactly done anything this year that we didnt know last year. Infact he beat Dermot Welds mare and Thousand Stars by further in last years Irish Champion Hurdle than he did this year. I just can't be having him at such skinny odds and with all the stats against him it will suprise Me to see him win...
As for the rest of the day, I think Simonsig only as to stand up to win. Overturn as much as I love the horse needed better ground than hes likely to encounter tomorrow and I think he'll lead Simonsig into the straight and be outstayed up the hill. Theres literally nothing else in the field that will get near these two. Arvika Legionnaire jumps right handed and I wouldn't be suprised to see Tap Night pick up third. No real opinion on the JLT. Looks a ****ter of a race to pick a winner. I was tempted by Pete the Feat who will enjoy the ground and stamina test but Im not overly confident Arabella Boy as a great chance in the Cross Country. I was looking through the field earlier and I can't see anything that I'd fancy to beat him. Stays well and will enjoy the slog on that ground I was tempted to oppose Quevega with Une Artiste. Im still undecided on that one, She can't keep winning surely? Im probably wrong but shes skinny enough again for a horse that rarely sees the track. Une Artiste won well enough last year at the festival and as done nothing wrong this year. And Carlito Brigante looks well handicapped on his best form. If I've had a **** day I'll probably be all in on him!
Hi All, good luck to all just the two for me tomorrow ew 13:30 - Un Atout 16/1 15:20 - Rock on Ruby 9/1
Hi All, its been a long time. Hope all are well and best of luck for the week! My selections for tomorrow are: 1.30 Champagne Fever e/w 7/1 2.05 Simonsig 4/6 2.40 Fruity O'Rooney e/w 11/1 3.20 Hurricane Fly 9/4 (NAP) 4.00 Outlaw Pete 9/2 4.40 Quevega 4/6 (nb) 5.15 Carlito Brigante e/w 8/1
Marvellous, work finished with until Thursday. But it will fookin freezing down there tomorrow. Tomorrows picks are SN: will decide on the day, have ruled out about 3 of the 12! Arkle: would love Overturn to win but will be having a small ew on Baily Green just in case one of the leading players don't complete. JLT: Fruity o Rooney/Pete the Feat CH Countrywide Flame ew ante post voucher. Will not be topping up on the day! XC: Any Currency Mares: Swing Bowler Nov H'cap: Restless Harry purely for sentimental reasons. But my top tip would be wear 2 lots of thermals
Looking forward to the Festival... Finished work until next Monday!! Will be there on Gold Cup day and glad it will have warmed up by then! Just 3 bets for me tomorrow :- SN : Champagne Fever - E/W CH - Zarkandar - large E/W Mares: Swing Bowler - E/W - Re Swing Bowler did I miss something? I was convinced she was going to the County and sure thats what the Pipes said and an interesting switch... Quevega may win but this horse is beautifully bred, will go in the ground and could be giving Quevega a right ole battle ! The horse is very classy...Im on !! The rest of the racing tomorrow I'll be watching and enjoying ..Good luck all !!
Anyone had a strong look at the last yet? I had to put one in for another comp earlier, went with John's Spirit on the basis of a couple of strong runs behind Katenko (finished in front of Fruity O'Rooney). Going to have a proper study now, where should I start ?
I really think A New Story has a cracking chance in the X Country. Loves this race and e/w at 20/1 that is surely, surely overpriced given he's lighter than when running a head 2nd last year.
Simonsig with the ground in his favour is the certainty of the day in the Arkle Supreme Novices Hurdle - even Sprinter Sacre got beat in this don't forget. I like the look of Puffin Billy each way. He had excuses in his last race and if you ignore that has good form and will appreciate the ground Mares - Quevega - KGL Forecast? Champion Hurdle - can't decide between the big 2 so Grandouet will probably win. Can't see beyond those 3 anyway
Evening All - can't wait for Wed as my first ever visit - not looking forward to getting up at 6 though to get to Reading station although will be worth it to see Sprinter Sacre hose up by 10-12 lengths !! Hopefully McCoy gets me off to a flyer in the supreme tomorrow. Got a feeling for those doing trebles / accys that one of the big favs will get beat tomorrow but not sure which one - don't think it will be Simonsig though.
