No one can knock Mackie for effort and heart, but think most of us know he isn't (yet) a true prem striker.

However, I think he is most effective, and a general pain in the 'arris for defenders when he comes on for the last 20 mins.

No shame in being a super-sub.....Solskjaer made career of it.
For me, Remy and Zamora then when Bobby's hip gives out, unleash the Mackie on a tired defence.

    Can't wait for Villa.

Toatally agree about Mackie, he invariably seems very ordinary when he starts, but is excellent sent on for the last 20 minutes or so, where his agression and non-stop running clearly aren't what tired full backs want to be facing then.

His biggest strengths are his pace, strength on the ball and never say die attitude, all of which are more effective when facing a tired back 4

Got love the guy. Go Jamie. Blue and White Hooped blood.
I am sure he glad he is not playing for poor old Plymouth - hope those guys get out of the mess they are in. Always feel indebted to them for Buzsaky!

Speaking of which, what did we think of the Buzsaky song being transferred to Loic Remy?? Sort of sad but times move on and was great to be singing it again since it rocks the stadium as we sing it with gusto.

Spot on, give Mackie 25-30 mins to run them sh*tless.

I think it's now "new pele" or "french pele".

Personally Id love it if somehow you could work it to be the "new buzsaky"!

I see things differently from most here. I think he is good enough for this league. I'm not saying he's one of the better forward players in the league but he's just on poor form. Last season he was one of our best players and we would have been relegated without him, for sure.
I can't blame any player for not being at their best this season. Lets face it, this season has been ****e. I don't think he'll be first choice striker for us unless we have more injuries but he can do a good job, including playing on the wing and RB if he gets up and running with the new enthusiasm in the team.

Should haves scored on sat and looked clumsy when we need to hold the ball up at the end. He works hard but no pace or skill to be in this league.

I just think that a player like Mackie (Hill and Derry included) just add so much stability. Maverick players give u the "oohs" and "ahh's", but a steady eddie pro is also priceless.

Perhaps Taarabt could be used in this format now his defensive abilities and attitude are much improved. Bigger gamble tho......and of course, doubt he would like that.

Yes, very good thanks SB. Bloody hot and sweaty, but cheap as chips. Got a parking fine today.....12p. I **** you not!!

Gutted that I can't get to HQ at the mo, but am rocking the blue and white hoops here in Borneo. Actually quite a lot of QPR shirts (fake, of course) kicking about. In fact one kid turned up in one to a PE lesson today!! Top lad :)

Have to say, excellent footy coverage here and have seen 5-6 games live on TV in past 10 weeks, so not to bad

Should have scored but then Bothroyd probably wouldnt have created that chance by chasing a ball thats hes 99% not going to get. Mackie chases it knowing that the 1% of the time could be vital.
