I wonder if this is a "convenient" injury - I don't think they would want to risk him on soft ground. I'm sure he'll be aimed at the Aintree bumper. Now I need to find a horse for Wednesday's race.
Possibly i guess .... sgt reckless for me.....one for the flat boys you could say !!! Channon is more flat than jumps and fab jockey booking.. Hughes would love to show the jumps jockeys the way.
Afternoon all! I'm a keen racing fan but new to this Board. Ron recommended I take a look. I'll be at Cheltenham Tues - Thurs. Nothing jumping out for me at the moment though. I wonder if the ground will be as soft as they are saying. Cheltenham always dries really quickly. The time of the first race will tell us a lot.
Soft ground to favour Fly and Bobs Worth - O´Regan: http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-racing/hurricane-fly-robbie-power-denis-oregan-cheltenham-festival-soft-ground-to-favour-fly-and-bobs-worth-oregan/1218494/
Wow, I just found this section as I normally go straight for the daily page. Can I just say Top class that this is an amazing piece of work, well done, I'm going to skip any racing today and gradually ease myself in to the research for the next four days The only tip I've received is that Le Vent D'antan, Liz Doyles horse in the bumper is fancied, I think the story is that she's had two horses she sold on that did well in Cheltenham and was looking for one which she could hold on to, and her sister, who works in the city was also on the lookout for a 'Cheltenham' horse. So now, Liz trains, and a syndicate in the City own it, and good things are expected.
great stuff from Top Class to do that preview section! It will be interesting to see who has made the correct predictions. Pnkt - yes unbelievably tragic events for both the jockey and the horse all in the space of a few weeks following their success at the festival last year - for me that victory was one of the great performances of the festival too last year.
Good morning all like lamballana this is my first ever post.Have been a racing fan for the best part of twenty years now there is some fantastic race analysis here from you form experts, been digesting it all in,though having said that am still non the wiser in trying to pick those elusive winners. The top trainer is a bet I always enjoy as you can watch the racing without having a punt in every race while still having a interest,Paul Nicholls looks a cracking bet to me though the 10/1has all gone hills are still 8s.Captain chris and menorah are two horses which have escaped all the hype and are flying on the gallops they are my two ew punts.well good luck all with your selections over the coming days i'll be putting up a few more quiet ones soon if that ok.Ta Ta for now from me boat old moon
Just an update for the going... CHELTENHAM WELL COVERED UP All frost covers were in place at Cheltenham by 2pm on Sunday ahead of the four-day Festival fixture. The operation on the Old Course, where racing takes place for the first two days of the meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday, was completed on Saturday afternoon, along with vulnerable areas on the cross country course, used on Tuesday only. The New Course, used for racing on Thursday and Friday, was covered on Sunday. In total, the area protected by the covers is 65 acres, or the equivalent of 45 football pitches, and has involved 630 individual covers. "All the frost covers are now down," said clerk of the course Simon Claisse. "The forecast remains for some wintry showers over the next couple of days - tonight, tomorrow and maybe a bit on Tuesday morning. There has been no rain since early Saturday morning. "The ground, though, is unlikely to dry out much under the covers. It is soft everywhere. "We are experiencing a wind chill of -3C at the moment, with the temperature being +2C. This cold spell is forecast to last through to Thursday." The Old Course will be uncovered on Tuesday morning. It will involve up to 60 people and take around two and a half hours to complete. The frost covers on the New Course will remain in place until Thursday morning. On Sunday afternoon the going was described as soft on all courses.
Mmmm was gonna back Melodic Rendezvous tomorrow as per my write up on TopClass Preview thang. I'll revert to my second choice now of Champagne Fever... Melodic Rendezvous is the most notable absentee from the final field for the William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Jeremy Scott has been dealt a second blow with the enforced absence of the Tolworth Hurdle winner who is reported to have scoped badly; Scott had already been forced to scratch ante-post favourite Empiracle from the Weatherbys Champion Bumper. There are no such problems for the Supreme favourite, My Tent Or Yours, who heads the field of 12 with trainer Nicky Henderson also set to be represented by River Maigue.
Terrible shame for the Scott yard to lose two very live candidates at Cheltenham. Horrendous luck for them
Just seen Johnson interviewed on ATR. Very sweet on Menorah but his banker is Reve in the world hurdle.
Jolly good. I believe that was my ew bet for the Festival. Edit. Correction, it was my Free Bet choice (5/1 but went for the place at 2.22)
