I say we just play it short, take advantage of the advanced position we're in up the pitch, and work our way into the box.

We just don't have the quality when it comes to make set pieces work.

    Any ideas?

Variety is the key methinks. Whilst Ben Arfa could do a job dribbling into the box, teams would soon wise up and start coming short. Get a better corner taker on it for a start

eye hard to say i supose . try not to be one dimemsional and hump all the time ..teams know what to expect ,

also havent got the duncan fergusson type player up there.anyway.

more movement and better quality delivery and better tempo . .we have a knack of player attacking the same areas ,ie shola and cisse attack the back or front together ..thats not right.

,look at vidic man u his desire to win balls and even score is brillant from a defender. has our players got that kind of ability.

    i dont know.

I've thought this too. He can hit the top corner of the goal with a wall of 7 players in front, yet can't get past one defender when trying to cross it in. Maybe he should shoot from every set piece, no matter where it's from.

Need to whip the corners in, but the risk of that is as we saw, crosses that don't clear the first man.

This is what is underrated about the corner-taking ability of players like Beckham, who consistently put in deadly corners every time he takes it.

But I really have no idea why we have had zero threat from corners for the entire season and counting...

Been saying this all season. However the quality on the ball must improve first and foremost. I cannot believe that someone in the squad outside of Raylor is not capable of putting a flatter ball in with pace on. Cabaye is a great free kick taker. His corners are absolute loopy gash though.

This has to be a coaching problem. The quality into the box is awful but as mentioned cabaye does have quality from a dead ball. I think maybe the problem at corners is there doesn't seem to be any cohesive team plan. The corner taker is not sure what the team are trying to achieve. Its all a bit hopeful.

Variety coupled with lots and lots of practice. We are way to predictable and lacking quality.
