Something just spooked me, I read earlier on another thread that Mclaren's problem is that it was a "media machine" David Coulthard just mentioned that word for word. Hmm.

(Not exact quotes but what they said so far... along the lines)

David: We saw the old Hamilton last year...
Gary: The Mercedes looked more planted than the Mclaren.
Hamilton: If we get into the top 10 then that will be great, even more would be a bonus.

    Onto Vettel.

Has made all the right decisions in his career... Silverstone 2010 may have rubbed down his status (but more over it hasn't).
    Vettel never needed the help.
Michael Schumacher didn't engage with the British media he was from a (different era - German vs. British)..
Vettel has learnt how to mix and embrace with a British sport/culture.
You don't see him lingering around clubs, he goes quiet in the winter.

    Interval.

I can't belive that James Allen was such a twat in his peice about Vettel. Proof that everybody hates him. What a Berkeley Hunt. Coulthard too... such clear hatred for the guy.

    :p

The crap he was spouting about Schumacher was BS. I shouted for Schuey in the era of Coulthard and Mika because they were both morngy miserable sods that made F1 look like a chore. Schumacher loved racing and enjoyed winning. Hated Macca in that era.

    Onto Alonso.

Anderson has tipped him for the title.
Ferrari is an arm and a leg better than 2012 spec.
He is going into the year, knowing he is going to have a chance.
Alonso tweets: Training like an olympian.
Coulthard: That is not enough... I had to train more because I was not that good.

Coulthard: Is 2012 the best we will ever see Alonso? The peak?
Perry: Alonso or Vettel? Who is better?.....
    Coulthard: Alonso most admired...

Gary: Felipe the backup driver, they struggle in constructors.
    ... Alonso WDC. RB CONSTRUCTORS.

Wouldn't be surprised if Nico and Lewis were fighting for the title though... WTF are you on Gary have to play up for the Beeb.

Button/Macca: Same wavelength as Checo, understand each other. Straight forward guy.
Coulthard: Button has a title in him, amazing move from Brawn to Mclaren. He moved and won the team over, easy going and a sponsors dream.
Only form is getting the car to his liking in Quali.
If Sergio doesn't improve it will enhance Button.

Jenny on Sergio: Sergio is very certain on what he can do, and confidence is a must. Form slipped away.. disaster late 2012.
Heavy responsibility for a 23 year old.
Coulthard: 2nd places for Sauber was good, 2nd for Mclaren is not enough.

Did Lotus come and make the big 5? As opposed to the big 4?
As a company, Mercedes must build the car all year long. The big 5 will be really, really tricky.
Competition will be stronger, last year it was driven by the tyres a lot. This year the cars are a lot stronger, the tyres switch on stronger, and drivers can ring the car more. Maldonado complained about the tyres.
Gary: Tyres are easier to read, as they are more progressive. Still as many pitstops though.
Perez said that there could be 6 pit stops!!!?
Gary: No that is not possible, not enough tyres.

Raikkonen and Lotus: Could have done a lot better, from the pit wall.
    Like Ross Brawn is?
So much tech in F1, but sometimes the human aspect is always welcome.

    Dark Horses:
Coulthard: Paul Di-Resta, has out-right speed. Never was able to show it.
PDR: Crucial season before 2014, evolution car from last year, we should be content fighting for points this year.
You are living the dream Paul, do you have a playboy lifestyle?
I am a professional, I train, I work hard to make the most of it. I am very thankful for the opportunities.
Expectations? No expectations for FI, probably will be after Qualifying in Melbourne.

    Gary: Hulkenberg in the Sauber.
    He will do something special.

    Jenny: Bottas for Williams.
Fantastic racer, but hasn't raced since Macao 2011. He should be on the podium towards the end of the season.

First race in Oz DC, who will it suit?
-Mclaren have been strong last year.. but whoever can get tyres switched on, especially in the last sector. Jenson Button.

Gary: Mclaren do not look solid at the front end, Lotus and Mercedes do. Nico Rosberg will win.

    Jenny: Hamilton.

    Champion.
    Gary: Alonso WCC: RB
DC: MERCEDES/MCLAREN/FERRARI/RB... I do not see Lotus competing.
    Jenny: Kimi WCC: Mercedes

    All done. Phew.

Don't see how picking Rosberg is any more laughable than picking Lewis when they have the same car...

Lets be honest Manny, Seb is kind of killing the sport now almost like Schumacher did. F1 needs Seb defeated to a point that even DC is starting to think his job on the BBC is on the line.

Though I don't think Bernie has a problem with his friend winning the WDC again.

Well in the sense people can hold a straight face when Lewis is picked to win a race against the odds yet somehow it's side splitting when Rosberg's name comes up. Just find it quite arrogant IMO, egg will be on their faces if Nico does have the measure of him and at worse shows to be even stronger than Button was.

People forget that Nico was always driving a Schumacher car those 3 years together, mock him at your peril!
