Evening lads, think we found ourselves in the rare situation of wanting each other to win today. Chelsea and Liverpool have never been the best of friends over the last 10 years but since Benitez left I bare no ill feeling towards your club, your at least real football fans even if a contingent of your fanbase view us (wrongly) as plastic. I should really dislike your football club but its a fixture I embrace rather than one I find tedious now. Really like the work Rodgers is doing and enjoy watching Liverpool play, won't lie I do find the "history" thing with all new signings/Rodgers nauseating but respect your club far more than say... United. Good to see you getting stronger anyway, I think your a shoo-in for top 4 next season if you keep Suarez and Rodgers is backed in the market. I'll probably regret this post when Luis Garcia comes back on loan as a 37 year old and scores another ghost goal against us in a CL Semi Final but good to see a strong Liverpool in the PL.
I think its fair to say both us and you are sides that are gradually improving We have some weaknesses, our advantage is they are very obvious, we are poor at defending balls in2 the box and set peaces, we defend too deep, and we poor defending the counter attack. We were well below par today and only got the result due to 2 poor defensive errors. But our strengths our ball retention and the amount of chances we create
Gotta say DL, when I go to your board and post, it aint the chelsea members that are loonies, it's the visiting mancs I was fkn willing that 3rd goal today, Mata should have got it. Still, shameful how those at the stadium were behaving, I thought rafa did a good job 2nd half and ye should really have walked out 4 2 winners in the end. speaking of Rafa, Jose was no nelson Mandela either BTW.
No reason Liverpool and Chelsea became foes except the Jose/Rafa feud. ... and now Rafa is with you not us.
Jose was a hero in our eyes and Rafa was a hero in yours. In 2005 they inspired a new wave of optimism and were cult heroes at both clubs. The two were very antagonistic and both took jibes at each others support, it's not surprising the rivalry was so intense. Yeah we get a lot of looney Mancs on our board, they seem to be obsessed with us, City board is quiet so they camp on ours. Hopefully Leeds come up and you and them can take the Mancs off our hands
Thanks mate I started to think you had a soft spot for us, every thread made up about the top 4 doesn't include us but you still go on a bout how we will become contenders very soon, I like that
Nah, keep em there and knock em out of the cup. Then we can have more fun. See, it kills them on the inside if they lose, they literally die a little inside, calling the police after Nani got sent off, I think that is the measure of many of their fans. UIR is the manc HIAG or they are the same person Jose Rafa, pfff, water under the bridge mate
Hopefully we win then whichever of the 5 sides left wins it it's a victory for football and stops a poor Man U side doing the double. I'd be happy for a club like Wigan or Blackburn to win it but if we get to the semi we can't take any prisoners. I think City will win it though.
It's all they can win at this stage unless Real were the catalyst for United not winning a game between now and the end of the season. I'd pay good money to see City win the league this year just to have them call up the police again and report a crime en mass That guy that did call the police about Nani's red card, he probably called from the phone in the house he was burglarizing
They're only winning it by default, Fergie has been found out in Europe as per and spat the dummy out. Liverpool battered them 2nd half when they played them and we did today just lacked the cutting edge. I'm pretty sure United wont win it next season when other teams get their act together. We won't have pushovers next year either. Cardiff will do well and all the sides in the playoffs currently are decent.
I'd always much rather Chelsea win things over United only for the fact that they are miles away from us in terms of trophies won. Also much funnier watching Slur Alex lose than any other manager in the league. They've walked the league this year mainly because City decided to buy Rodwell & Sinclair (2 players that have played about 5 games between them) where as United signed Van Persie and Kagawa. Next year could be interesting and think will come down to who City/United sign in the summer. Also think Chelsea can be big players next year if they go and sign a top CF. They've got the midfield to compete with anyone in the league, think they just need some back up in defence and faith in a manager and could easily compete for the title.
I think the league would benefit hugely from QPR and Southampton staying up and Cardiff/Palace going up with Forest or Leeds through the playoffs. Wigan are just perennial strugglers, we need teams that can offer more. The stronger the league gets the better we'll do in Europe.
Rather QPR go down - think would be funnier them trying to buy there way out of relegation only to then go down and see how they cope paying 100k a week to players in the Championship. Wigan manage to do ok in the league on a small budget and deserve to stay up more than QPR.
Championship is a tough league to get out of. If Villa in particular went I don't see a way back for them.
