All this weekend's football has achieved is extend Liverpool's lead over us to 5 points.......Im winning the bet at the moment against all those who say laudrup will finish higher than brendan.......Still a few games to go but a 5 point cushion is huge...<laugh>

Liverpool were always destined to finish above the Swans IMO. Whoever had that bet with you needs their head testing Dai!! Brenden was going to struggle for a while when trying to get his ideas over but the bank balance of Liverpool has come to the rescue giving him coutinho and sturridge as well as Joe allen .

It is possible for us to run them close but i think as soon as chico was injured it was always going to be a struggle to maintain top 8, we will see, its not over yet but it s starting to click for Liverpool..which will no doubt please their massive support base, still about 10yrs behind Man utd though..<laugh>

But ML has won a major piece of silverware this year. I'd take the cup and 10th over a trophy less season and 7th any day <ok>

The fact Liverpool have been dining at our table this season tells you how far they have fallen .<ok>

Good luck to Joe allen and the scousers i say, im happy with what we got instead and we must thank Liverpool for Michu,Chico,Pablo,Ki,JDG and of course Mr Laudrup :)

Monk culpable for both goals - and more.

Midfield Bodde-esque stalwart required, above all else.

But unfortunately Norway, that's the problem. I love Monk too bits as each time he plays he puts 100% effort on the pitch, but he just isn't good enough at the level we currently are and aspiring to be at over the coming seasons. A great servant for the club and he deserves his new contract for next season, but we really need a top quality CB in the summer.

More to the point valley if Laudrup is rating Monk ahead of bartley then we might be needing 2 centre backs !!

A very worrying assessment indeed Norway. Bartley has all the physical attributes to become a good CB. Maybe he needs a run of games under his belt to improve, but with ML picking Monk ahead of him, it would suggest the lad needs a good kick up the @r$£ in training.

I was impressed with Bartley against arsenal but the Liverpool game told me a lot more about him,not his mistakes but his attitude, with a cup final place on offer you would think the boy would be busting a gut to make the squad or team! He played like he wasn't bothered though and that set alarm bells ringing for me..young players who get everything too soon can be spoiled IMO and maybe him thinking he came from arsenal makes him believe he doesn't have to work hard?

No surprise then that laudrup left him out of the squad for the final and picked a midfielder to play his position instead!
Early days for him but arsenal sold him for a million and prefer mertesecker instead of him! Alarm bells ringing slightly when you consider arsenal have the two worst centre halts in the prem league.

Time will tell, maybe a good pre season will do him wonders?

The real Dai has returned after a hiatus.

Dai, can you find these posts which show the bets you claim to have taken, or have you made this up again? I suppose you will claim it to be fact but not back it by any evidence as always!

Back to Swansea talk. Any coincidence we have had our poorest performances and games without Chico (lost 2 league games during his red card but beat League 1 Crawley in the cup) and since the injury (lost 2 league games, won 1 and beat League 2 Bradford in the cup)???
I think not. He cannot return quick enough.
