Tottenham are among my favourite teams to beat. This is a big win for us. We had to dig in and take a bit of luck but I am very happy with this win.
onward and upward. As a lot of my in laws are EFC fans this weekend has shut them up as we are now above them in the league.
This is a good picture. When we have a new banner it should be included. please log in to view this image
What if Chelsea get a 3rd? Ferdinand is a proper scummy drug cheat, just clocked someone kicked someone from behind for nothing, and then goes back to help him up as if it was a accident. Drug cheat always a cheat
I was happy we dug in no question. we were rocking there and defending so badly from set pieces. johnson played dirt. I think we were looking rocky but the sub was the right one. that we can be happy with. Allen came on and gave a good commitment and effort. Having 3 in there allowed us the shore up and get back into it. That pleases me, we used coutinho well when he was on and he was taken off to protect him. I thought maybe sturridge was the one to come off but he played better with us at 4-3-3 funnily. a bit of luck with downing's twice.... and ekotto's done that stupidity before... nice pen too which is good. Al in all the goal from suarez was the class move of the game..
Very happy today, in a bizarre way the fact that spuds deserved to win made it all the sweeter as how many times have we been on the wrong end of games like that.
I don't think a team that can only score from (soft) set pieces ever really "deserves" to win at the top level of football.
Got to say, I think there's a great positive vibe around the place at the moment. For the last 3 yrars watching Liverpool has been mostly ****e. I wasn't looking forward to watching players like Insua, Konchesky, Poulsen & Carroll wearing the red shirt as thet just weren't good enough. Now? There's a genuine excitement. I'm always looking forward to see Suarez, Sturridge, Gerrard & Coutinho in action. We are scoring goals for fun & it's a shame there's only 9 games left of the season as I'm sure most of you, like me, just look forward so much to watching this current LFC side play. Credit to Brendan for getting everyone smiling again and believing.
How many times have we outplayed teams in recent seasons and not taken 3 points? And almost every game we've played poorly we've lost. It's a joy (as stated above) to actually take 3 points from a game we were second best in. Tottenham are strong and pacy and seriously we do need to add a bit of muscle into the team but ultimately (for once) it was us being the more clinical team. #woohoo
I think whats great is we're seeing quality all over the pitch now. Before January we had Suarez as the only proper attacker, and now we seem to have an abundance and we only added 2 extra players. The wings are sorted, we've got 2 fantastic fullbacks, midfield could do with another quality player along with defence but apart from that I look at the team and I'm satisfied. We are playing a lovely passing game with an end product, there's nothing more I could have asked for at the beginning of the season.
We desperately need a replacement for Carra for next season. Someone with pace, tall, and a good reader of the game, and preferably a vocal 'leader' of the defence. Sounds like big Sami!!
