First season in the EPL, only been here since January as you say, at one of the worst teams in the league, and has scored half a dozen at least. Could be a devastating striker for someone like us.

I want Gervinho damnit. According to that Cwarr guy on Twitter (whoever he is - does anyone even know?) Drogba and Tiote's recommendations have worked very well and Gervinho even stayed with Tiote recently. We're now in pole position to sign him. Gervinho wants to come but his advisors are holding him back at the mo. Whether the deal will go through depends on whether an elite club decides to step in and snap him up.

 

The only thing I don't like about Ba is how he scores a hat-trick or brace then has a few missing games. Don't know if that's just because he doesn't get the support in some games or what, but I haven't seen enough to cream over him yet. Looks good from what I have seen though

 

This. I'll be happy enough with Gervinho, Gamiero/Ba & a couple of handy squad players(Tomas Rincon anyone)...

 

In regards to Ba, I wouldn't want him. He failed a medical because of his knees and I think it's only a matter of time before they start causing serious problems.

Plus, to be honest, I just don't find him very exciting.

 

Hate to say it and wouldn't have said it a year or 2 ago but would love to see Charles back now, has really improved as a player on the whole in my opinion, carried Wigan for 2 seasons now

 

And in the case of Ba I've been impressed enough to make a bid, both in his short time here and a couple of times in the Bundesliga. Gamble but surely a cheap and worthy one with WH going down?

 

Ba, Defoe/Cole and N'Zogbia, maybe Larsson/Jarvis for cover, Faubert for RB.

I can imagine us going in for Konchesky if Enrique goes (maybe even if he doesn't) as he'd be a solid enough option without costing too much. An alternative would be Figueroa from Wigan as he can also play CB.

I'm not expecting our signings to be as high profile as £35m would suggest and I can see us going for Carlton Cole () but it's very much Pardew's job to sign multiple solid players with the money rather than splashing it out on 2 or 3.

 

Pardew recently denied claims he was going after C.Cole, it was on an article on here somewhere.

Although, in the world of football that means nothing. I just hope Pardew sticks to his word here.

 

Jarvis is better than back up.

Ba may not be all that. Think Zaki. Good first half season then rubbish.

Shane Long would be a good signing if Reading stay down and we can get him for 4-5million.

Also, as much as i would love 3 quick skillful players going forward, what do we expect from goalkicks etc.? We'll lose every one in the air.

 

Barcelona seem to manage.

Although, I'm all in favour for a target man.
