a beautiful sunny day, blue skies.. automatic promotion for both teams.. beer ohh that makes my mouth water.. and it's so possible.. the weather is probably the most unlikely
A win would be powerful - but as others have pointed out, it is almost like a 'free hit' for us. Even if we lose, we are still probably in the best position of those 3 teams going for second place (fixtures-wise). Though, obviously, it would probably be quite tough to take psychologically. These next few games are massive though. After the Watford game, we could potentially have breathing space, or be trailing well behind. A lot can happen, but we are in a great position.
The good old Burnley ghost. Massive game, but afraid that I can't see us winning it. Would make me very surprised anyway. Burnley always find some way to **** us over.
I think we'll win. Half the players in the squad have only played Burnley once or twice, so the hoodoo doesn't affect them. It's just a coincidence; if you take out all this superstitious crap then on paper we are a better side, with better players and a better manager. I'm backing the lads for a solid win here.
A lost or draw wouldn't be so damaging, but it will depend on the nature of the loss if we did lose. However a win would certainly physiologically be a big statement to the others around us, and a boast to confidence.
Come on lads lets finally put the monkey to bed and give the buggers a good hammering. Leapfrogging Udinese B and Cheaters Palace would be the icing on the cake.
I agree with this, however not mentioned is the leg up Burnley seem to get from inept officials when they play us! I am hoping that the quota of inept officials this month for us was at Palace, so I am forecasting an away win for us this time and finally putting our bogey side in their place! UTT
I think we will be fresh and focused and win them both. Looking forward to the run with its twists and turns.
Our fans seem the most unconfident by a long way about finishing second compared to the palaece and watford fans
I agree, the negativity of some posters is astonishing. All this 'Burnley bogey-team' nonsense is extremely pessimistic. When we beat them away in 2008 we went up but most folk seem to have forgotten about that - lets focus on that.
Yeah but in all honesty, the fact that we can't seem to beat Burnley, ever since that 2008 fixture, and before that too, does give the 'bogey-team' status some credibility. I think we can win this one, and we really need to, but it's going to be difficult given our latest run of away games... 9 goals conceded in the last 3 away games...
I'm actually confident we will win tomorrow, a scrappy 2-1 win to the tigers, i think the players will take the advantage
After a very hard Mothers Day, the prospect of this televised game is a big look forward to! It will be a hard game, but winnable, defence is a priority. Points would be great, but a strong team performance, without the daft mistakes we see at these times is most important. Personally, I think we will win, simply because we are the better team when we play to our strengths. The Egyptians will be well up for this, as will the rest of the lads. 1 - 2 onwards and upwards
