Thanks for the info. Sort of risky when proper checks aren't made, especially in the case of the Glazers.

Sorry, 'bankrolled' is probably a misleading term to use. Blood sucking vampire would be more appropriate <ok>

Whilst I agree that Utd's revenue stream is impressive. It depends on them being continually successful on the pitch for it to continue. If there's any downturn in their revenue from say, lack of commercial deals, sponsorship, shirt sales etc, then the club itself, which is loaded with huge debt from the Glazers would start to suffer. I would be mightily ****ed off to learn that Arsenal had these sorts of debts loaded against them and our owner still took a personal profit of £140m out of the club's revenue

At the summer recess, Arsene Wenger will have some big decisions to make as Arsenal coach. With several dead-weight contracts ending thus freeing up much needed funding for competitive wages, the manager will be able to embark on a mini squad rebuild. We all know Wenger isn't going to spend big so what options are left? Buying youngsters takes time to bear fruit, risking the Gunners dropping further away from the summit of the league. Buying proven EPL stars is expensive and beyond the club's finances. Even going for top Italian and Spanish stars is a dead end for Arsene.

One thing that did strike me about the recent Transfer Window was how the Magpies went about their business. A market opportunity was seemingly seized upon where "undervalued" French players were bought for a bargain price. The likes of Sissoko, Gouffran and Debuchy could all start in an Arsenal line-up, not to mention the previous buys of Cabaye and Ben Arfa; yet Newcastle paid peanuts for these players. Wenger already has six Frenchmen in his squad but could add a further six for £20m or so, fitting his vision of "value for money" not "break the bank" buys. The fans need to see signings of quality this summer in numerous positions on the field. Vive la Revolution!

I'd love to have seen the likes of Sissoko and Goufran at the club. Goufran looks to be a much much better winger than Gervinho, and Sissoko would've been a great midfield presence for us.

I've got a seat in the upper tier of the North Bank for the remainder of the season. Due to other commitments I now can't use it.

Is anyone interested in taking it off my hands, or know somebody who would be? Please reply on here, or email me at [email protected] Happy to answer any questions about it.

Consider the Anfield Rap... Rap and football are uneasy bedfellows, never seeming to combine to catalyse great art. This observation was never more true than in the case of young Arsenal fan Scott Kieran. Only follow the link if you're ready for some serious earache. There is comedy value to be had, though:

I don't like the way he is going, he started off doing personalized chants and taking requests for them, now he's doing rapping but he can't do it.

Ah yes because 1 Winter window where we got a much needed LB, and missed out on two targets that we could afford to wait for is great basis to judge.
If you don't believe it, then don't bitch if it doesn't happen

You say this every year on how you are always going to spend Big Money but you hardly ever buy any Amazing Talent that will guarantee a champions league spot, so don't get your hopes up because Arsene Wenger will not spend Big Money.:)

One of the most pointless and random bumps to an old thread, I have seen on here.
