WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you sure you're talking about todays game? The times he beat one defender, only to turn round and run into trouble and lose the ball was astonishing, I thought he was pretty poor today.
May I add Fox was poor in the carling cup win over Tottenham as well. However he won't have lost all his talent overnight. I think it is just a lack of match fitness meaning he hasn't performed to the standards we expect from him at all. There is are very little chances for fox to get that practice except for in the reserves and he doesn't seem to be playing many of those games. I think he's just been unlucky, struggling with fitness and form and Hughton hasn't seen what we've seen if him over the past few seasons this year. As for this season, achieve safety and strengthen in the summer(new holding midfielder, new striker, permanent left back, more competition on the left wing). As far as I'm concerned this season has been a success so far. It's never easy with a new manager.
I guess the issue a lot of fans are starting to have is that we seem to be getting to safety a point at a time in a seemingly never ending supply of dreadful scoreless draws. It's been a very curious season really - a great number of low or no scoring games, punctuated by the occasional goal-fest (mainly in the against column it has to be said). Do I think Hughton has done a good job? Yes. Am I pleased with the way we're playing? No. Do I think we will play more expansively next season? I fear not.
The guy who sits next to me said that was our 6th goalless draw this season - abyssmal is how I would sum that up. Do I think Hughton has done a good job? Yes. Could do better Am I pleased with the way we're playing? No. Absolutely NOT!!!! Do I think we will play more expansively next season? I fear not. I seriously hope so, as I'm getting fed up seeing us creating so few scoring opportunities at home!!!!
Has he done a good job Yes he has pretty sure he will keep us up and that was the goal Do I like what I'm seeing No Do I think it will improve next year , really don't know all the clubs that survive will get the bigger £ windfall so that will just make the potential new players on our possible radar more expensive Really hope we can get better looking games next year with more goals and excitement
It's quite funny that with all your lower league problems, you come on here trying to take the micky out of a team that is so much better, positionally and financially than yours! Perhaps you should get your own house in order first!
Sorry Welly you got it wrong here old boy we ain't in meltdown we are just exchanging views of playing style versus achievements Unfortunately for you Binners that's only possible by researching a very narrow piece of time in 1p5wich's dusty history books
I just got a timely reminder why we watch and love 'the beautiful game'. Liverpool's goal against Spurs was pure majesty at work. All is not lost
I'd wait until some form of parity is restored before worrying too much about us, squire. In fact, as we're nine points above the dotted line and you're only four, I'd be inclined to start the autopsy a little closer to home
Just commenting on what I've seen on this and other threads on this board, not criticizing your team in any way! (Only the fickle "fans") Hope that helps...
The Budgie comments on this and other threads about Hughton's tactics remind me of the comments on the TWTD forum in those dark days of anti-football when we had Roy Keane in charge... Just saying...
Fair comment welly!!! I wonder how many 'fickle' Canary fans will be eating 'humble pie' if (as seems likely) we're still in the PL next season??? Yes, I don't like our 'style of play', but it seems to be what we'll have to endure for the next 9 games!!!!
My biggest worry is as it was when I heard his first post match interview - I just don't think he believes in the majority of the team - hence we'll play not to get beat... The only thing that has cheered me in recent weeks are the pennies I've won on 0-0 predictions.
You'll stay up To be honest, the last match of your's that I started to watch on a stream was your home game against Fulham...I turned it off at half time, dire negative stuff (from both teams), I couldn't watch another 45 minutes of that! I obviously don't see as much of your team as you do, but you seem a pale shadow of yourselves under Lambert, where, credit where it's due, you played attractive attacking football... But as I said, I'm sure you'll stay up, which is probably Hughton's remit this season...
We should be putting teams like Southampton away, I was very disappointed that we only had three shots on goal. We need to get that luxury midfielder in the summer we need a playmaker in the team, this season I've found we've lacked ideas we don't have the guile we once prided ourselves on, I'm sure once we build the team Hughton wants things will start to tick.
