Ha ha quality. Good man. My 3 year old knows nothing about any other football team whatsoever. Call it brainwashing if you like.:emoticon-0152-heart

Bozz hate to break it to you but I think your wife had an affair with John Terry.

The city gene (London in this case) is only carried on the Y chromosome. Colour of team shirt is through nurture... a learned response.

So he learnt to support red through being raised in your house... but Terry's genes made it a London red club.

/ sorry to be barer of bad news

the first football related thing my son asked for at age 4, a United something or other I think it was a ring of all things, he asked his mother and she said no way am I going to listen to your Dad moan and groan for the next 20 years and got him the whole bedroom liverpool set<laugh>

Now he's 16 and plays Rugby and has no interest in football, other than a passing interest in Liverpool for my benefit god bless him

  9. Both my boys had similar baby grows. Also got a LFC teddy that says 'my first bear'. Tried to get both to watch footy without joy although the eldest as watched about a dozen games (LFC on TV and Sunday League). The eldest went to the pub with me at just eight days old to watch us play Chelsea (Torres' first) <diva>

My son is now 33. He's never lived in Liverpool or anywhere near the city. Up to his early teens he showed no interest in football whatsoever. Around 15 he declared that if he had to support a club it would be United. At 17 he went off to new Zealand to work and I started getting texts and phone calls asking what the score was. When he came home he finally admitted that he'd only ever said that he supported United to wind me up!! He now lives in Australia and before every match we always exchange YNWA texts.

My youngest has no interest in footy I'm glad the oldest does. Work on the 5 year old, don't give him a choice just kick balls at him until he traps one.

Strangely, it took me migrating till I really became a real fan... before then I paid little attention to football despite being a nominal Liverpool fan before hand. I was almost an adult by the time started following every game. I was a Liverpool fan as a kid (because everyone was... or a toffee... in my school) but it wasn't until the games were hard to find that I wanted to watch them.

You can't guarentee your kids following in your footsteps. My dad was from the midlands and named me after an Aston Villa legend that shared our surname.

    That didn't work out.

  13. Better off working on the youngest, the eldest is more brains and, in all fairness, is more likely to be a Billy Elliott! The youngest is dumb enough to be a footballer but need to get him interested in kicking a ball <laugh>

  14. I won't force either boy to support any team (if they eventually chose to like football) but I will not allow them to support you know who <laugh>

I've already encountered some of their relatives trying to entice them but lets just say I quickly pissed on the flames <laugh>
