I´ve got a soft spot for the Saints So although a win would be great, Today, I´d have fewer complaints If a draw ended up on our plate The Ron Davies, Mick Channon link I´m sure has a big part to play, In how some of us oldies think When talk is of the good old days And also the paths of our clubs Have mirrored each, uncannily, For many years now where the rubs Have hit both, consecutively And of those beneath us today In danger of leaving this year, If I had to choose one to stay Then Saints it would be, never fear But with or without success here I still think they´ll pull themselves free, Of trouble and have one more year At least, of Premier League glee But for all our own peace of mind Three points would be massive today, So not wishing to be unkind Let Saints wait for their win away. OTBC Hoping for a win but a draw would in no way surprise me.
i too have a soft spot for the Saints. The first game I took my son to at Carrow Road when we moved back from the frozen north-east was the 4-3 in August 1986. Gave him the bug and reunited my love for the club. Since then have seen some real corkers, and I can't believe that those supporters who want entertainment will be disappointed today. Just hope the rain eases before I set off for the station! OTBC I love matchday!!
......PS I am looking forward to saying a cheery hello to the melancholic fan 3 seats away who left 15 minutes before the end of the Everton game saying, 'I in't watching anymore of this rubbish'. I reckon he would have been on Carrow Bridge when Kamara's header went in!
Morning RBF and gg, I believe CH will have instilled the value of three points today! Fans(?) who leave early are total idiots, can they not remember all the injury time goals we've scored over the last few years?
I too have a soft spot for Southampton. They were the team we beat the first time I saw Norwich beat a Premier League team. They have also been on a similar journey to us. Relegated from the Premier League then from the Championship together. Then both teams got back to back promotions to the Premier League (Southampton have called it 'doing a Norwich') only delayed a season for Southampton because of their financial problems.
