Well - I was going to buy a Home shirt, for the first time in my life. And wear it proudly in Canary-land. I was expecting to get barracked, especially as Norwich have got promoted. But with the new shirt having the Cash Converters logo, I sure as **** ain't going to now! The word is: BOYCOTT!!! (Don't buy one).
This puts me in a real dilemma. I've owned every home shirt for as many years as I can remember so I kind of feel like I have to buy one to keep my collection going....though it's awful and I'd be embarrassed to ever wear it.
Being a larger bloke I only ever buy the goalie tops and training gear so won't be getting this. Cash Converters isn't the greatest sponsor to be having but at the end of the day we had Totesport last year which is no great shakes either if your not a fan of gambling (no problem for me but plenty are against it).
At first I had similar reservations about this, and thought it was embarrasing. However now I am aware of the details of the deal, i am in support of anything that will benefit the club. It does sound a lucrative deal, and is no more embarrasing than parading Karoos name on the short, which many believe to be one of the poorest multimedia providers around. All things considered, I will probably still get the new shirt.
Now - if the new shirt sponsor was Spearmint Rhino, I would gladly wear it. (Probably be good at 'keepy-uppy' too!)
Rosenior needs to do something about his hair, he's starting to like too much like Darnell from My Name is Earl.
Im gobsmacked by the sheer snobbery surrounding this sponsorship. You seriously think we're going to get bullied by other fans because of this? Seriously? lol Good deal, good money, and does us no harm. Logo looks better than a shirt I've got with a Needlers black teletubby style patch sewn over the top of the previous one, even though I DO prefer the tiger look of that shirt. Honestly, stop with the snobbery, there's far worse organisations that could be our sponsors.
As alluded to on another City site, if they're willing to pay (e.g) £200k more than anyone else and the club makes £10 per shirt, then as long as the club sell within 20,000 shirts of what they would have with another sponsor, it makes commercial sense.
As disappointed as I am with the shirt I'm sure it will grow on mr much this seasons did well at least enough to wait until I can get 1 reduced at the end of the season. I popped into the ckub shop in my way back from the expo thing in the bonus arena and they had just received the new training wear delivery and the staff were admiring a couple of items and they look alot better quality than this last seasons for a start they have proper embroidered badges instead of the fuzzy felt efforts. The track tops etc... Are black with silver/grey trim very smart and the training top I saw was navy blue again. So fingers crazed the Replica shirts will be alot better quality also even if there not to everyone's/anyone's taste.
At least TWF has a good alternative for next season... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hull-City-Ton...tographs_CV&hash=item53e7c02cce#ht_813wt_1139 I love how in the description it states; "Yes it does smell of him still."
Hull City Tony Warner Match Worn Signed Shirt Prem Someone should point out to them that Tony Warner never played for Hull City in the Prem.
why do teams no longer offer three or four kits to choose from? i remember a few years ago we had a choice of three shirts and everyone opted for stripes....i'd love a similar thing to happen again, for the fans to decide, as its the fans that will be spending £40 on it if they like it!
