I've just watched the penalties again, and that first one is an absolutely appalling decision. Meyler doesn't do a thing, and the opponent just falls past him. I can also say without any exaggeration that the decision to award the second is one of the worst refereeing decisions I've seen in my life, at any level of the game
I can't wait for Zaha to be playing in the prem next season (if he gets a game) and the cameras picking up his every dive ready to be scrutinised on match of the day that night, which currently the FLS can't find the time to squeeze in to their 30 second highlight reels which you get if your name doesn't have Leeds, Brighton, Cardiff or Watford in it.
IMO. 1) Palace player went down far to easily for my liking but thats the modern game for you. Justice that David Stockdale made a good save and kept the score @ 0-0. 2) NEVER in a million sundays was it a pen. I was stood right behind where the action occured and nothing happened. You Tube clip proves just that. So what the linesman saw beggars belief. He must have been on drugs. It was the game changer as until then the game was heading for a 0-0.
**** me!!! I've just seen the so called pens...WTF! Pen 1. That's clearly premeditated...Meyler doesn't even put a foot in, Williams feels him behind him and drops to the deck quicker than a cheap whore. He knew he'd conned the ref...look at his face. Pen 2. All I can say is relegate that ref and his ****e lineman to the Scottish 3rd div....you can tell its not a pen from the Palace reactions, Murray's like 'Hey??? Another pen???' I think we might see something this season we've never seen before, either a team promoted on a record number of penalties or a team promoted with 7/8 first team players loaned from overseas clubs. Crazy.
talkSPORTDrive ‏@talkSPORTDrive No more penalties for Palace is campaign. They've had more than any other team. Most weren't pens, some diving. Refs gonna be scrutinised! talkSPORTDrive ‏@talkSPORTDrive Check out Palace's 2nd penalty Tuesday. Ref Mark Haywood cannot defend that decision. These refs giving bad decisions need outing.
Durham said on talksport yesterday he has watched every single one of their penalties this season and not one of them has been stone wall, he said their first one against us should of been a free kick our way because he was backing into Meyler, then he said he didn't even see the point in discussing the second because it was ridiculous.
Agrreed. Sadly it was the major part of Palace winning the game. Those officials were playing for Palace for the first half but then backed off at 3-0. Disgrace. All 3 shiould be sacked. imo Its done and we move on.
I was there and in that first half after the penalty was saved we improved and looked the better side, a penalty in added time in the first half away from home would kill any side in a game like that.
Lets be fair, Palace deserved to win. However, the manner in which they got their first goal is appaling. On a general note, hopefully it reiterates our need to be solid throughout the team and I think we may see a change in the starting 11 come Monday
We should change the whole bloody lot they're fecking useless. Jak Rosey Faye Mcshane Dawson Fathi olofinjana Wilson Cairney (if fit) Simpson Proshwitz That should do against burnley.
I've just been sick! Seriously though I would play Stockdale Elmo Chester Faye Hobbs Brady Meyler Fathi Quinn Boyd Gedo
I'd have fathi in the more advanced role and meyler holding as meylers big and great in that position and fathi is quick, energetic and great technique with the ball. He can stick a few overs in too.
