People talk about the 12th man but on the run in we have now against teams whose players will be as nervous as ours I think we have a huge part to play. It's not about the noise we make when something good happens but if a players does something that does not come off, what is the crowds response. A groan or abuse serves no purpose especially at this time. Cheer louder even chant his name and then see him go again and again.
It's time to be stupidly over positive at the game but I really think we can make a difference.

I love this post. We are worth a goal a game, minimum. Great post.

We need to play our part tomorrow and the following home games. The away support was great last Saturday and I think helped

Love the spirit of this, and completely agree on abuse, but lets be honest, the groans are an involuntary individual response to a piece of rubbish play, an opportunity spurned etc. Multiply that individual response by 15 or 16,000 and it sounds much worse than the intention....not much that can be done apart from gagging/sedation, which would also damage the positive noise.......

Sadly, there are people that go to the games who moan and groan even if we're playing well. But yes, if we get behind the team and try to love them in the way we used to love our team not so many years ago, then they will try again and again until the get things right.

I heard a radio piece once where someone had analysed the stats and calculaed that the home advantage was worth about 0.5 goals per home game.

We are very important indeed so COYRsssssssssss!!!

If the players try, that will transmit to the fans who will transmit to the players - simple

If the players can´t be bothered then neither will the fans be.

This has been the case for most of the season, I hope last week has changed all that.

You're wrong. There have been a number of games where the fans have outplayed the players.

Just have to give it everything regardless. Then we can say we've done our bit for the cause.
As for the players... it's not just good enough to turn up!!!
    12th man definitely works!!!!

I think you misunderstood my quote - I didn't say that the fans would only respond if the players tried - I said if the players do try the fans will react accordingly. I know the fans try and get the team going but in the end negativity on the pitch will transmit to the stands and then back to the pitch.
