I thought it was harsh when I first saw it but after seeing it a few times and getting a clearer interpretation of the rules, it was a red card.

To sum it up into layman's terms, it's probably a little unfair that Ferguson's got a red nose however a yellow one would be completely inappropriate.

the better team lost and that was never a red card. yellow at best

At the end of the day, He expect nani to back off and not go for the ball? no. his eyes were always on the ball, his foot hit the ball first. Never a red. Total load of crap. Reff clearly had a bet on utd to loose

Rather see man utd through than real madrid.

    the better team lost

Funny how the commentators were ripping the madrid keeper and then he saved them from loosing 10 men tho
    + rooney is ****e helped

eye . i thought man u got the tactics brillant ..contain and counter .. which they were doing great .

the special one ,admitted he was lucky .

personly tough one to call the card for me it was yellow , but from the refs view it may have been red.

i must admit i was wanting madrid to win like lol..

I would have 2 if ronaldo wasnt playing for them, Or if he actually stood up like a man when he gets tackled not just lying around like a foof.

Tho i havnt watched him for years cos he is so physically pathetic, he might have changed, messi is still better

How would he be able to lead Santa's sleigh with a yellow one?

I'm sorry but in no way can I agree with this. He gets a proper kicking, more so when he played for utd and always gets up. Never injured. He is a machine. Sure in his early days at utd he liked a bit of dramatics but fergie obviously had a word and he has knocked that on the head.

On the game, not a red he was trying to bring the ball down. Can see why the ref saw different in real time tho. Utd played well up until then but fair play to real, they took advantage of the situation and were clinical

You dont have to agree, But i still see ronaldo rather loosing his balance than trying to keep on his feet.

As for being a machine, he is yer. I actually started to like him a bit during the european championship but he showed during his matches that it was all about him and his passion for winning and him trying to win it, It was like he didnt care he had a team with him, so lost all my respect once again

He did gain some respect back last night for not celebrating his goal

Always support the English club in european competitions and it was never a red card for me. Although it was high, Nani kept his eyes on the ball and there was no intent to do harm. Also Arbeloa rolling around like he'd lost a leg, when he got a graze on the arm, did Nani no favours what-so-ever.

Usually support the English team, but I wanted Madrid to win last night. I'm a Ronaldo fanboy.

United got their tactics spot on, and would surely have gone through without the sending off. My initial reaction was that it was a yellow, but I can see why the ref gave the red. Nani pretending to be injured to avoid getting a card was pathetic though.

How bias were the English media yesterday? Townsend is a complete clown, and must lack any self-awareness when he spouts such guff about opposition players, Chiles was one-eyed as usual, and even the BBC live feed seemed to be pro-United. Absolutely no mention of Higuain's disallowed goal.

And Rio Ferdinand. What a prick. Grow up.

Yes Nani kicked out and that is exactly why the michael jackson faced **** rolled around on the floor afterwards (concrete sign of guilt) what make him worse is that he will allow the ref to take it up the arse knowing full well he slipped up and got caught out.

how he ever got a job with the fa after that i will never know.

lost all respect for the bloke after that .

Its alright. I don't blame you. I blame society.

I can quite happily let a lot grammatical and spelling errors go. My posts will be full of them. But the sheer amount amount of times people use 'bias' when they should be using 'biased', for some reason, really gets to me.

I just doesn't sound right. People don't even talk like that.

    AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Can never like Real Madrid - - still Franco's team for me.

As for whether it was a red, in order for it to be a red the player must have used grossly more force than necessary for the challenge - - that would seem to require either intent to twat the opposition player or in fact twatting the opposition player.

There was obviously no intent. There was also no particular contact. There was a somewhat high foot making grazing contact with an oppposition player's arm.

On the border between free kick and yellow for me
