Bump. I can see a free for all breaking out before the season is out over our Mercurial Moroccan so I thought I'd review the OP on this thread and see is it still applicable. I lost the head with poor aul Fingi the other night and I shouldn't have. Even though I was goaded (not by Finglas), it was still out of order to react in that way. If myself, Queens and Aussie on the one hand try and temper our criticism and Yorkie, COL and Finglas try and dampen their praise, I reckon we can do this without World War 3 erupting again. Perhaps an intermediary type can moderate Taarabt debates and help keep them cool? Sooperhoop would be the ideal candidate IMO because he has a very good, moderate all-round assessment of Tarbs and can see both sides of the argument. If things are getting feisty perhaps he could step in and chill sh*t out?
Sorry Swords, we have two very good Mods who deal with the cross-fire. At the moment Tarbs is clearly not at his best but I also think the way the team has been chopped and changed is making it difficult for him. Harry picked a team that would 'work hard' last week so the message was clear for Adel but I do think we need his creativity at it's best against the Mackems, I think he'll be back and fired-up on Saturday...
There is a basic bait I bite on and will continue to do so. Just add the moments that Adel Taarabt has given our club that should be enough to convince anyone on this planet about his talent and worth to our team ... Calls for him to go or not get played are remarkable He is the most skillful player ever in the history of our club and I directly challenge anyone on that statement Just this season Goal v West Brom Goal v West Ham Goal v Fulham Just start to add up the world class passes he has made He is not on form maybe at mo Ask yourself have you seriously a better player to replace him? I can understand the odd bit of frustration but to jump on his back after what seems anything is always going to look like stubbornness He will go in the future maybe but I love watching him play as he above all players in this division has true creativity and natural talent
Fair enough Soopy. As bad as he has been I still think he should play against S'land instead of Granero. Sometimes a spell on the sidelines can do a player good. It might make him realise he's got to concentrate more and do the simple things better. He might come back in and play much better.
Unfortunately this service hasn't been accessed in the way I had initially hoped but I think this initiative is more pressing now than it ever has been since its inception. This thread was set up with the express purpose of allowing posters to debate the Taarabt issue in a controlled environment where everyone's views would be afforded equal respect and consideration. In the last few days I have noticed various groups forming again and behaving in a hostile manner toward one another. This situation is not helpful to the Board and is not conducive to Board harmony and inter-poster relationships. I am hereby, once again, requesting that all grievances past and present relating to the Taarabt question, be communicated via this medium alone, in order to quell any potential unnecessary unrest throughout the rest of the Forum. It is vitally important we all act with maturity and sensitivity in this divisive matter and channel our energies appropriately. As can be seen at the top of this page, I had originally requested Roller's assistance to be a kind of intermediary between the various factions, being aware of his adeptness at defusing volatile situations. As Roller is now a Moderator, I believe he is now in the perfect position to offer impartiality and guidance on this matter and his calming influence over all posters could prove to be invaluable here. I therefore request for you Roller, to consider maintaining a special vigilance on this subject as I believe, at this moment in our evolution, this matter is of supreme importance and requires particular attention. I also request the Mods sticky this thread. I'm looking forward to utilizing this service extensively over the coming period and I'm confident many others will avail of it also. Swords
I refer you to my post 86 on this thread. If it makes you (and Queens) feel better, lets say you are right and Adel is a waste of space, certainly not worth the terabytes of fruitless argument that have been written on him on this board. In return can you concede that for many of us the buzz we got when he was on the pitch was worth it (for us hopeless romantics only of course). The crowd felt different when he was playing at LR, even when he was failing to deliver in our darkest hour(s). Thank you.
Perhaps we should just have an imbargo on anything relating to AT......he doesn't play for us any longer, everything that needed to be said by both for and against has been said.......lets forget about him for the next 9 months or so and discuss the players/team/performance etc that we are seeing this season. Threads about AT are getting boring.....lets give them a rest....
I prefer to say on here that Queens and Swords are wrong about Taarabt ... entiltled to their opinions which i respect and state again that things wont change for the pro Adels and anti Adels. I like the player and for me he is the best to wear the shirt. He is a Fulham player at the moment and I only have hope left that he will play again in the shirt where IMO he belongs I simply am a massive Adel Taarabt fan and don't mind coming here or any other thread to state that. Where i right in all thing is the fact that both Swords and Queens have to debate the issue using language that always rubbishes this player. The world has accepted that this player is very talented and simply put he is. Last year in a poor team he still shone through and in France he also has been quoted to say the dressing room was a mess ... Don't blame him he wanted like a load of them to leave. He loved QPR very much but wanted to play top level football ... i hope he gets both I hope he returns and Harold goes
