Give it to Stockdale for his penalty save. Think the 900 City fans in attendance deserve some praise.
Best of a bad bunch to me were: 1) Stockdale - 1.5 penalty saves, didn't seem at fault for any goals 2) Meyler - Scored + always gives 110% effort 3) Hobbs - Sounded decent first half, all **** second half
1. City fans 2. Elmo 3. Meyler Hugely disappointing. Two bad decisions from the ref re the first half penalties. Good save from Stockdale, though he was fumbling the ball a lot tonight. UTT! .
1. Gedo 2. Simpson 3. Elmo Surprised to see Meyler in people's top three. I thought he was fairly poor - gave the ball away too much. Simpson looked v strong when he came on, and his headed goal was excellent. Yes Stockdale's penalty save was good, but he had two early horrific butterfingers moments and his kicking throughout was woeful.
Hobbs Gedo Simpson The defence were solid first half, but seemed to go to shambles in vast periods of the second half. Hobbs seemed to be the only consistent defender IMO. Gedo worked his socks off, didn't have the necessary pace to beat the defenders but certainly worked hard. He lacked supply tonight and you could see it frustrate him. Simpson came on and ran wild. He did his usual work horse style approach and really tried. Great for him to finally, finally get another goal.
Stockdale (after the first 10 minutes) Elmo Brady City fans were awesome, my throat is sore from joining in with them.
I don't have a clue who was man of the match, the players were as frustrated as we were and that showed with them chasing nothing and being dragged out of position, the linesman doesn't give that ridiculous penalty right on half time and its a different game. Everyone of their players are diving cheating ****s, and nobody in the ground appealed for a penalty.
1) Stockdale - for his 1.5 penalty saves 2) Meyler - worked very hard and scored a good goal 3) Simpson - dito - but for less time
