No worries. My degree was in management, which included finance, accounting and economics, so I have a good enough grasp of the subject. Not Foredeckdave good of course, but good enough ;)

It was quite sad how many people seemed to be waiting for Utd to lose just so they could charge in and start shouting. IIRC that's what matth did after Chelsea lost the first leg to Napoli. Seems like people should take a good look at themselves when they start behaving like an autistic kid who claims to be unable to control his behaviour.

I like it that they flood our board. It just shows that regardless of what they say they really do care about United <ok>

It also proves Mourinho right in a way - whilst it may not have been the game the whole world was watching, it was certainly the game the whole of England was watching.

BBF started a thread about how the whole world wouldn't be watching the game. And then he watched it.

    He really is very dim!

So without trawling through your board I thought it was a red card what are you lot thinking now you've had time to reflect?

You're surely wumming with that comment?

It was never a red card & if you lot had been on the wrong end of that, you'd be shouting "conssspppirrrrraaacccceeee" from the rooftops.

Nani never looked at Arbeloa, he was merely looking to trap the ball, at the very worst it was a yellow for a high boot.

I didn't. I was trying to sort out a document for the unit's forthcoming employment tribunal. It's a ****ing nightmare, even with input from a mate who's an employment law judge. I've arranged to call him tonight so I can go through it with him whilst I'm actually looking at the document.

I thought your degree was in natural science? I was in Cambridge for meetings on Monday <ok>

Not wumming, genuine question. After a game emotions run high but sometimes people change their mind in the morning when they have cooled off.

I think Nani can see him and is reckless as to if he catches him or not, it is debatable as the rule states intent but if you don't care if you catch a palyer or not then there must be some intent in that choice.

It's very high and studs showing and potentially dangerous.

The rule doesn't actually say anything about intent, that's just one of the many misconceptions based on the way the rules are worded, the rule book states that a reckless challenge is a caution, excessive force is a red card offense. Nani's challenge could be seen as reckless (or careless which according to the rule book is just a foul) but no more so than a keeper being late for a punch and smashing a player in the face, yet that will never be given as a foul never mind a red card.

Ok I dont know the rule word for word.

Like Tobes said if this was against Liverpool I'm sure we would be "upset". When I see the challenge though I can see how the ref may see it as dangerous and therefore send him off, I can also see why it is debatable with Nani appearing to track the ball.

I initially thought red and can now see why there is an argument but I can also understand why the ref made that choice.

Not one Madrid player appealed for a red card, which tells you all you need to know. The players knew it was a nothing challenge & whilst it was high, there was no malice in it. Pro's know when a player has looked to 'do' an opponent (see Louis Suarez for details).

The referee therefore made a decision that he didn't have to make & ruined the game in the process. That decision decided the result, fair play to Mourinho for reacting so quickly in order to take full advantage, but up until that point United looked quite comfortable & I'm not sure Madrid would have notched at all.

Personally I think it was a harsh sending off, and any fan of any team anywhere would think likewise if it happened to them, but knew he was going to red card him. The way he stood waiting for him to get up.

The disappointment for me was we didn't react to it. Not immediately and not after they equalised. I'd have thought that as we were one up at the time we would have changed the team and tried to keep what we had but Fergie did **** all. Bit **** that, I must say.

Got to thank Sweats for plying me with ale and keeping me out till one in the morning, cheers for the thick head me man. <ok>
