Great footage there George - thanks for posting (was ok on my laptop Oddy?) It reminded me that I had my best festival ever in 50 years of punting - SDC, R.Theatre, H. Ball, Finians R, Sal Flo and Belvano all came to the rescue of Reebok's Roubles. Significantly, I was an epic fail in all the "show piece" races - have anteposted in most again this year, so there may be some improvement there! It can't possibly be as good this year - but I won't care, as I'm going to my first ever CF Tuesday and Wednesday
You'll love it reebs, Tuesday is the best day of the week IMHO. Get there in plenty of time is my advice, we hit Cheltenham the town at 12 last year and wouldn't have made the first if I hadn't paid a fiver to park in a private field at 1.10. Missing out on the roar and 11/1 cinders would have spoiled the day probably.
afternoon all, long time no speak. i had weeks without internet. silly virgin - no not me, i mean the internet company. the anticipation of cheltenham starts the week before for me, and then all of a sudden it's here, starts with the roar of the huge crowd, and then even quicker it's over and i feel a bit deflated. it's the hype i think that makes it, but pretty well justified, 4 days of top racing. i never have any real money on chelts, but still have picks and there's always something i remember long afterwards. i do wish though that some of the horses would be out all through the season and then cheltenham so i could follow them properly.
i've noticed that and looked at all the settings but to no avail, you can't change the aspect ratio by the looks, even in full screen. i even tried turning the subtitles on to see if that would stretch it. who writes those subtitles?!! someone either has no grasp of english or they're taking the p***. absolutely butchers the horses' names, and the commentary, and the race names..
I can't believe it is just over a week away now!!!!! currently trying to clear as much work as I can this week, then getting set for next week. already booked the Thursday and Friday off and will probably take Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons off too. I always feel a bit sorry for my work colleagues at this time of the year who have no interest in horse racing - I think it is one of the great weeks of the year and for them it is just another boring week in March!
I love watching all the races tbh, i don't back on every race either and i still get a huge buzz from watching it. Last Year i think i did 5 bets all week and still loved every minute of all the races and i think i alway's will.
