Of Barmby's team there are now only 3 regulars - Chester, Hobbs and Koren (with Brady a loanee last season). Of those Koren and Hobbs have been substituted lately due to form / tiredness / call it what you will. Who would have thought at the end of last season that the team which just missed out on the play-offs would have such little representation at this point? I believed we had the core of the team in place and there would be maybe 3 or 4 new faces to add competition, but how wrong can you be? The work SB and the Allams have done to transform our squad in such a short time is amazing and they all deserve great credit. Now we are almost unrecognisable from the NP/NB days including not just playing staff, but formations and tactics. This is no slur against previous managers because many of their signings now give the team strength in depth, but if we do go up at the end of the season it will be due in no small part to the hard work and commitment of our manager and owners.
No **** sherlock! Seriously though, Bruce has done a marvellous job but he has only be able to do that because of the resources The Allam's have given him. Just wish the fans would back them in numbers for the final push
After winning our last four at home there's no longer the excuse of "lack of entertainment" and to be fair the numbers do seem to be creeping up only not by a lot.
An increase in away fans at the KC might help also. Brum were struggling so 900, or there abouts, was expected. Forest, Watford, Cardiff, Boro should bring a decent amount of travelling fans.
Forest and Boro should bring a fair few, but Watford have traditionally come in a taxi and the Cardiff attendance will be determined by how much is riding on the game.
The object is extra support for City, not just big crowds. If the away support is bigger it will have the opposite effect apart from maybe causing our lot to make more noise.
If we remain second before the Forest game then I would hope we will be pushing 20k, especially with Forest's away following
I saw something on Twitter that Watford were getting free travel to the city match. I dunno if it's true or not.
I expect the KC to suddenly fill up in the final games to over 20,000 like it did in 07/08. When we smashed Southampton 5-0, the final home games attendences swelled. Maybe this result will do the same.
Just checked and you're right, but as the coaches get back at 2.00 am, I suspect many will still give it a swerve.
