Pretty much the same as this time last year...and then you sacked your manager!! You're almost as bad as us, must be that 'mad dog' you have in charge.
Overall, not too bad a result as it widens our gap to 5th/Arsenal to 5 points and with us having a much nicer run of fixtures coming up then Spurs, we should be capable of overhauling them in the coming weeks. To stand a chance at third, we probably need to be in front by the end of the month. Hopeful Arsenal will implode now and we can just battle with Spurs for third.
Your only in contention for 2nd if you beat Chelsea. Once you lose at Anfield on Sunday I think those feint hopes will be put to bed though. In reality you are battling for 3rd/4th.
Bubbles, bold prediction there matey considering we are 13 games unbeaten in the league and winning away games for fun. Liverpool away will be extremely tough but to label it a definet spurs loss is pretty arrogant. I personally think it will be a draw but no doubt we can go to Anfield and come away with all 3 points. We have not lost to Liverpool for a few years now home or away. I personally think we are a better side than you but you're experience might get you 3rd rather than quality.
plus i think you guys made a huge mistake letting AVB go and proof is showing it was the attitude of you're players rather than just AVB. AVB made mistakes no doubt but he is proving what a great talented young manager he really is at spurs. Team spirit is at an all time high and he has changed the mentality at the club. Your loss is our gain
If we get 3rd it'll be our quality inspite of the self implosion this season. Spurs are a good side it that you have good players all pulling together. But I think your results and league position are at the top end of your potential where as we are nearer the bottom end of ours. A consistent Chelsea without the internal issues would be challenging for the title as our early season form suggested. For how well Spurs are doing, only 1 or 2 of their players would definitely get in our side on paper.
Because AVB would of won the champions league if he stayed AVB was just as bad as the Chelsea players IMO. After being transfer-listed, Anelka revealed that Villas-Boas banned him from using the first-team car park, forced to use separate changing rooms and made to train with the youth team. He said "Ever since I was punished they put me with the youngsters.'Iâve got all the kit and equipment that professionals have but they put me in a separate changing room â thatâs football for you."
Bale is a given. Vertonghen would be in contention for centre back but him, Cahill, Terry, Luiz are all of a similar level probably. Dembele is not as good as Frank and Ramieres IMO but may get in on the basis he'd probably suit our system a little better. I'd still have Luiz in the centre ahead of all of them. Cech Ivan/Azpi Vertonghen Terry Cole Luiz Lampard/Dembele Hazard Bale Mata Ba
We'd only have Mata and Ba in our first 11 if we had all our players available too. In a combined team there's a lot of close calls and it'd be ultimately down to who you support. As for 3rd, I still think Chelsea will get it but the belief will rise the longer we can stay in 3rd.
We can go anywhere and beat anyone, on our day. I have absolutely no fear about us playing anyone. What I do know, is that no team will want to play us, not with our current run of form. It's no surprise that AVB and Gareth Bale have won EPL MoTM and PoTM, respectively, for February.
It always makes me laugh how teams below us in the league think all of their players are great and most of ours are 5hite. You lot are almost as bad as the Mousers.
Aint that the truth, heard all this last year too. We went on to win a cup double and qualify for the C.L where as Spurs didn't win anything, got battered by us in the fa semi final, didn't qualify for the C.L, lost Modric in the summer and sacked their manager.
I'd agree there are close calls but Cech, one of our centre halves, cole and Ivan at right back would almost be a certainty. Hazard is surely a must as well as Mata and Ba.
You have a good solid team and are playing well, but I don't see many being among the top in their position in the league. Your collective is greater than the sum of its parts where as we have been the opposite. Your no 1 striker is Defoe for instance, he's probably not even most people's top 10 in terms of quality. Take away Bale and you have no one even remotely of that class to replace him. If we took out Mata, we still have Oscar and Hazard who could/can play that role.
Not nearly as well, though. Pretty sure that Mata's responsible for more of your goals than Bale is for ours, too. The same could be said of a number of positions for both clubs. We have depth in most positions, but none in a couple. I'd suggest the same is true of Chelsea. Take away Cech and you have no one even remotely of that class to replace him, for example.
We do...he's just out on loan!! As I say Spurs are doing very well, but ultimately they've won nothing yet (unless we count Arsene's '4th place trophy'!!) so a bit early to be putting many of these players in the same bracket as established internationals and Champions League winners like Cech, Cole, Terry, Luiz, Ramieres, Lampard etc
In which case I assume that you'd accept that the whole Man Utd team are better than yours? Bit early to put the likes of Oscar and Hazard in the same bracket as established internationals, Champions League and Premier League winners like Wes Brown and Phil Neville, etc.
