Certainly agree that we shouldn't roll over necessarily, although I do think that it was probably Daws' reputation as a decent reasonable bloke that saved him a booking. They are fuming about Clattenburg letting him off over on the Scums board.
They keep the ball well, as they play with a bunch of possession-hungry midfielders, so their centre-halves often have very little to do. Unfortunately for them, it also means that there's no protection in front of them and their when defenders get exposed they're not up to it. They don't seem particularly well equipped to deal with balls in behind them or set-pieces, as far as I can see.
In the first half it was very tight but opened up a bit more in the 2nd, if Arsenal had just made it to half time at 0-0 they'd have had every chance but the suicidal defending for 2 minutes of that half cost them. Up to that point they were undoubtedly the better team. I thought after that Spurs took control and ran out fair winners limiting Arsenal to little. I think everybody in football agrees Arsenal's defence is leaky (to put it mildly) the fact they boast one of the best defensive records says a lot. If in Germany they're defence would be midtable on GC. This United side may well finish on 100 points, the league is poor.
There is something in your analysis, but sadly the truth is a bit simpler than that. Ramsey is a complete liability and Vermaalen (the one who looks like the robot in red dwarf - smegggg heeeeeed) is a mouth breather that's one fart away from needing a lobotomy.
I agree, they seem to suffer a lot against teams that can get from A to B quickly, like Spurs, Chelsea, United and City. But against teams that don't counter quickly or aptly, like West Ham, Stoke they seem to mop the floor with. It seems their defence can't cope with teams that play at a high tempo.
And then you have to factor in that this current group of Gooners are losing the confidence to win big games faster than a Scottish Patriarch up the inside leg of a choirboy!!
MOTD2 has Alan Hansen on tonight. I think he might spontaneously combust when he analyses their goals. Not sure who else is on, but I hope it's a Goon.
Nobody that goes by that name is on there. Sol Campbell is though, extremely insightful pundit, I'd like him on MOTD permentantly, dunno about you
Just noticed Spurs have won 37 from 48 points (11W, 4D, 1L) Extrapolating to a 38 game season, that would leave Spurs at 88 points! Next 6 games I feel will define our season. 4 points against Liverpool, Chelsea and City would stand us in good stead I think.
The moron can barely string a sentence together. License fee cash going to that ****bag is a disgrace.
Yeah I thought Colin Murrays introduction of Judas was very funny! He is a useless pundit and seems to forget what he is saying half way through a sentence.
It's insulting that they've decided to pick that twat at all, but they seem to have put him on there to provide a balance, somewhat insanely. Hansen (Liverpool, so neutral), Hartson (Arsenal and West Ham, but Welsh, so pro-Goon, though he was unbiased) and Judas, who we all ****ing hate and who played for both clubs. How's that balanced, even if you ignore who he is? 2 Arsenal to 1 Spurs, which ironically is the reverse of the scoreline.
l Good idea! If I know where the **** is on a Saturday evening, I can run him over in the car park. Preferably with a ****ing Hummer!...
a belated word of congratulations. Top be up to third is most impressive, but to be honest ever since you rolled us Royals over at the Mad Stad we had you down as just above the brightest and most dangerous team around. All the best guys, hang on in there, for I feel that your style of play might well make inroads in the Champions League next season - far slicker than the typical traditional English team. Ah, what we'd give in Reading to be in your position - so enjoy it!!
Today's goal and the one conceded at Lyon. Bale needs to get tighter on his men and look convincing. really it's something I've noticed...not being a ****er after another cracking goal by him.
Tottenham's 2-1 win today against Arsenal has set a new club record for the Premier League Era for the number of points won after 28 matches - 54. The previous best was 53 points set last season... Tottenham Hotspur Premier League Points Won 1992-93 to 2012-13
