Third top scorer in the EPL; from midfield. Factor in age and Yes, that does make him one of the world's top talents. I did not say that he is the third best in the world but that there is an argument to be made for that. As has been already stated, the way that Levy goes about his business in regards to selling, Real would need to put more cash on the table than was the case for Keane, Modric etc. that adds up to a sixty or seventy million price tag.....

    if they WANT him.

I have to agree with gunner.b.alright - that is delusion of the highest level. Bale is nowhere near top 3 in the world and there is no case to be made for it by any sane human.

Comparing him to Messi/Ronaldo is pure lunacy. They are easily the best two players in the world and have season upon season of stats to back that up as well as playing for the best sides in the world. Bale has had one decent season and a handful of good games prior to that for spurs who are not even considered a regular top 4 team in the prem. He is not on the same level by any stretch of the imagination. Walcott and Bale are having very similar seasons at the moment - is he in ith a shout for third best player in the world? I think not.

I could literally go on all day about how ******ed it is to think Bale is the 3rd best player in the world, i could list a ton of players better than him and who clubs would pay more for. Think before you comment in future :p

As for the price tag - it's only idiots like you who believe Levy is some sort of messiah capable of doubling the value of all of his players. The fact is we have seen better players than Bale moving for less money in recent seasons from top clubs in this league and other leagues. IF Bale wants to leave and a TOP team want him, then some sort of deal will be done. It might drag on for a season or so, but it will happen. Just like Modric or Fabregas. If £40mil+ is offered there is no way it will be turned down.

Agreed <ok> I'm not sure where all this Levy worshiping comes from to be honest.

This is the man who turned down an offer worth £40m for Modric to then settle for £30m and almost ended up with a player going on strike in the process. The same man who sold an ageing Robbie Keane, to then go and buy him back less than a year later for £12m ! The same man who paid £16.5m for Darren Bent and then sold him at a loss when he was Spurs top scorer.

And the same man who paid £15m for David Bentley <laugh>

We rejected a bid for 30m plus alex. Alex was sold 6 months later for 4m. 30 + 4 isn't 40. Modric was then sold for 33m. To a team that's not a rival and also getting an extra season. You've mentioned this a lot in this thread so I thought I should clarify.

Yes Keane was bought for 12m but why ignore he was sold for 20m?

Yes bought bent for 16m but sold him for 10m with a 25% sell on clause. Which is why Sunderland pushed for such a big fee when selling to Villa. We received 6m as 25% of the 24m he was sold for. About break-even.

Also ignoring the huge fees for Berbatov and Carrick (although I think he's justified his price after several seasons).

    We never bought Bentley!

Alex was valued at £10m and Modric £30m. 10+30=40

Why buy back an ageing player in Keane for £12m when you've just made criminal money on selling him?

Bent was overpriced when you bought him and you sold him for a loss.

    Never bought Bentley ???

Did you forget about that or something ?

Alex was valued at 10m by who though? If he's sold for 4m 6 months later surely that's closer to his true value! Completely ignoring the fact that maybe we didn't want or need Alex. If you were offered 15 plus alex for van persie would you accept that opposed to the deal you actually got?

Keane was 28 when he returned. Is that really ageing?

I've explained we eventually broke even with Bent already. I agree he was overpriced but he was valued by 24m by Villa less than 18 months after we sold him. Do you not think Alex was overpriced at this 10m figure then?

I still maintain we didn't buy Bentley or maybe I forgot. Or maybe I thought you were providing misleading info so I thought I'd stretch this further.

    oi tart ... STOP LYING!

We were offered £30m and Alex for Modric and we accepted £33m - so we got £3m more and no Alex and we did NOT strengthen a premier league rival.
We sold Keane for £21m and bought him back for £12m 6 months later....and resold him 2 yrs ago for another £4m ...making a £13m profit.
We sold Darren Bent with a sell on clause so made our money back.
You forgot to mention Carrick....bought for £2.5m and sold for £18.5m and Berbatov...bought for £10.5m and sold for £31m.

We generally make a profit or break even on most players ....

As for Bentley....we make like the chelsea board and have airbrushed him out of our history <laugh>

So he should have been washing the squad cars every saturday till his contract ran out.

Let him have a chance to lose his form . Instead we sell him to a major rival when hes at his absolute peak form .

We GAVE United the premiership for 24 million quid.

Arsenal FC , from Elite of europe , to feeder club , in just a few short years.

Arsene Wenger " a big club does not sell its best players " .

Liar or Weak fool , which is it ?

Piskie's well aware of the value of Alex and how the Modric transfer went, but he keeps peddling the same old bullshit anyway, as he prefers it to the truth.
It is quite amusing that he keeps using it as an example of people believing "Levy is some sort of messiah capable of doubling the value of all of his players", though.
Modric was signed for £16.5m and sold for £33m, literally doubling his value. :emoticon-0136-giggl

So if it had been announced that we had sold him for £17m you would have thought that was ok? I would have been even more annoyed if we'd only got that for him

Everton are just 2 points behind you mate...and you play them soon...so if we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory Everton could well push you out of the top 4
